^The author doesn't want to make a harem, but the main heroine has really poor and slow development, while a side one has really good progress and good chemistry with MC. So yeah, kinda poor on the romance side, which is sad. (the author did say that having Nemesis as the main heroine is really important to the plot though. So the true development might come later, even though I'll still prefer another girl)
But the world building is really good, and more importantly, lots of 変人.

Even if objectively this MC is better than Velt, subjectively it's impossible as long as it's not first POV. Velt thought pattern is just that much fun to read. (same for Sou, I have a blast reading his thoughts)

But if you like him that much that gives me even more reasons to read this novel. (though I'm not too much in naisei)

^Yeap, 1st person POV is good especially if the MC likes to do mental Tsukkomi.
But this is even better.
This is 4th person POV!
I think as early as 5th chapter "Forest Preservation and History" you will get to like this.

Well that's I guess why there has still not been any serious non-elf heroines. I don't remember whether the maids were elves or human, but even if human she is likely to be mostly side character and as such might just disappear with age or just fall down from heroine position and become a plain comic character or the friendly grammy type.

I found this novel some time ago, I really like this building kingdom type stories. I made a translation of the novel's description for those interested:

Possessing memories of being born, raised and died in a country called Japan... the young boy Hercule was born in the imperial household of a declining empire.

This empire that once was a super power that reigned over the world... is now a country nearing it's end. The public finances are on bankruptcy, the military forces declined to the point that their territories are destroyed by barbarians and it's being squeezed by the neighboring countries with tribute payments every year.

And also, there's no other successor aside from the young Hercule!

"Eeh!? I can't run away!?"
"You can't."

Thus, the 12 years old Hercule ascends to the throne.

Using the knowledge from his previous life, Hercule struggles to rebuild the empire... reforming the tax system, revolutionizing the industry, reorganizing the public finances, rebuilding the administration and reforming the military system.

This will be later known as the story of the young emperor who restored the Lemurian empire, which would later carve it's name in history as the great monarch of the 3 continents, the "holy light emperor" Hercule the First.

^ I remember it too. The usual reason stated is, that humans have high reproduction ability and thus high numbers, but if that was the reason orcs and goblins should be the dominant species, not humans.

As expect i can't force myself to like MC's personality.

Judging from characters Introduction from latest release, I guess the relationship between MC and Lunaria won't improve in future.

They won't love each other no matter what, they are not enemies and not friends. (It kinda suck for me who like Lunaria, i like her resolve and want her to get some love.)

^I think Mc probably lose interest in her if she start to love him, the reason why MC "love" her because of she isn't yield on him and her will is strong to endure the humiliate he gave her.

MC came from a broken home, his father and mother failed as a parent, maybe his definition of love probably different from normal people. TBH sometime i thought MC treated his fiancee more like a cute pet than lover.

This is one of great points of this novel imho
In other novels, heroines fall for MC and they never doubt that feeling
There's also Hachinan, where they married for political reason and just never touched the subject of feelings
They didn't even confess, did they?

^^ I also wish for gradual improvement of the relationship. But it's not like there is no room for it. MC certainly likes rebellious girls, but it doesen't mean they have to hate him. As long as they have their own will and are willing to moderately disobey him it's OK (also better to read than cheering party).

Then again I also felt like this was a bit overdone, especially this was a bit of fast change after the prebattle scene, where MC seemed to be fairly sour about the whole thing, but still liking Lunaria and treating her increasingly better.

Because where is the fun without any fight? In other words, just using authority to get lots of obedient girls is boring and you won't enjoy it long anyway.
