Restore CD for old computer
I am much better off buying a new computer but I cannot afford one for reasons that I need a new job. I am trying to reinstall XP on a Compaq Presario 4406RSH however this computer is bought from someone else and it came preloaded with XP home. It has other old stuff that I am looking at but that is another story. What I want to do is find some restore disk or restore program (or whatever it is called) so that I can reinstall XP on the machine without using the XP cd I have on my person. This computer came with its own product key and I don't want to use CD with a product key.
Does anyone know where I find a restore disk for a Compaq Presario 4406RSH?

What happened to it, can't boot? Any errors?
I'm afraid there are only drivers and support programs, and no restore discs: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...uct=92732#N220 Because of that, the only option is to use the repair option found in the Windows XP disc, which will not touch any other installed programs and without having to reformat the whole hard drive. http://pcsupport.about.com/od/operat...txprepair1.htm

Just download an untouched generic OEM image of xp home, burn that to a disc and use it alongside the computers product key to install and activate it (since OEM systems use a generic OS image which is pre-activated so the product key on the computer has most likely never been used on that computer if the OS hasn't been re-installed).
