oh, and does anybody think madoka will surpass bakemonogatari's success. me, I DO albeit it's early to tell.XDD

Unlikely, BMG had a prior fanbase all setup, if you look at the amazon trends madoka was dropping before ep3 whereas BMG was high all the way, while madoka's has already started dropping again. Of course given all the spin-off works if they run this new franchise right we should still see 20K+.

i hope it does or just get close to BMG's since i want madoka get what it deserves.XD adapted famous LNs have always the advantage of getting such records.albeit, BMG's one of a kind.

anyhow, i want ep. 4 now like crazy.XD

If it gets too dark... dunno about it surpassing Bakemonogatari's success. If it really wants to snag a bigger audience there better be "hope" somewhere in the bottom of this box. Other wise, I think it'll be more of a cult favorite with a decent sized fanbase.

Eva actually has hope in it... it's not all black.

EDIT: Also, Eva may be popular... but it isn't as you put it, "more selling", when compared to other series.

The sales of BMG and EVA Rebuild is pretty much the equivalent of Avatar, let's be realistic and not get ahead of ourselves.

My bet is still 20K+ and 40K+ if they can maintain the quality.

End of evangelion had no hope. Only mind-fuck or depression symbolism. I thought it's undeniable fact to that Evangelion is one of the best selling animation of all time, not just popular... >_>

i love madoka, but i must say EVA is still the most horrifying and mindfaqing show i've ever seen.XD and mah,the Rebuild movies were just awesome too.XD

btw,about the sales,BMG is really something,albeit i was never a fan of it.DX

Shinji's whole dialogue with Rei was about hope... and he chose not to kill Asuka. The fact that he was still there on the beach choosing to believe is "HOPE." Did I miss some version of the film over all these years?

Eva is not all black... School Days is all black imo... and Madoka better have some hope in it, or else I don't see anything but a cult following after it has run its course.

I did see the pre-order rankings, and it's just a knee-jerk reaction to episode 3. Also, I fail to see your logic in saying Eva = all black... even if hope is symbolic it's still there.

As for the topic I'm personally hoping for a bittersweet ending where they gain something at great personal cost, one of those endings where even though the evil has passed you still feel like evil did in fact win in some sort of way and the characters got the short end of the stick. Is it "dark" and crushes all hope? Yes it is and it does but I'm a bit tired of everything being sunshine and butterflies.
