I was looking at wikipedia to compare release date for the novel and animation for FMP
The first 3 novel Fighting Boy Meets Girl, One Night Stand, Into the Blue are cover in the first series. Into the Blue novel also the final arc in the series was release in 2000. The First air date for FMP was on 2002. So this is base on assumption but I predict it will take two or three years until we see an anime. FMA Fumoffu was start at Aug 2003 and end at Nov 2003. After FMA Fumoffu was over, two years until FMA sigma was air on 2005. I did research on novels that have anime Spice and Wolf first novel release 2006, anime appear on 2008 (2 years) Bakemonogatari first novel 2006, anime 2009 (2 years) Welcome to the N.H.K. first novel 2002, anime 2006 (4 years) Kizumonogatari novel release 2008, and anime movie coming out sometime 2012 (4 years) Haruhi Suzumiya first novel 2003, anime 2006 (3 years) Katanagatari first novel 2007, anime 2010 (3 years) The shortest time when we would see an anime would be two years, the longest time to wait could be 4 years, anymore more longer I'm not sure it happening. The FMP final novel came out on Aug 2010 it now almost being a year, so we have another one or two more years to go until we heard and announcement or green-light assuming the world doesn't end in 2012. If you guys know any more novels that have an animes see the year it take until the show is air on tv. Last edited by Azoth; 2011-07-04 at 00:14. |

I find it strange that such series as FMP don't get further anime attention. Compared to most anime coming out now, maybe with few exceptions, FMP is totally superior. I really want the story to be animated as now the novels are finished.
Though I don't know about series popularity in Japan. I guess if it isn't then it wouldn't be profitable to animate new material.

What first drew me into FMP! was the characters... Well, Kaname mostly but a war crazed nut called Sousuke soon became a personal favourite as well!
However I'm about two thirds of the way through rewatching the first series and I have to say I'm appreciating the mecha a lot more as well. I never really stopped to just look at them and I'm almost ashamed of myself. FMP!'s mecha are the most "realistic" I've seen portrayed in anime. They're not invincible nor are they the ultimate weapon (excluding Lambda Drivers of course). And I think I'm in love with the anti-tank daggers. A mecha throwing a bloody knife across the battlefield is just so brilliant.

Yeah, I don't know why but FMP are truly great series. FMP has lots of things:
1) Mechas 2) Tsundere 3) Some supernatural powers and weapons 4) Nice plot 5) Unique characters, I mean name at least 3 characters like Sousuke who are crazy military otaku 6) Romance sub plot which is later a bigger part of story 7) Lots of humor, fun etc. 8) Hell even school life is present with some otaku things 9) People here eventually die, not just stay invincible all the time 10) Plus novels are finished, so any anime production studio won't have to pull an alternative ending Don't know why it's not continued to be animated, but now people prefer more shows like K-ON! and other lame moe, in comparison to solid FMP

I think the OVA approach for FMP to continue is a good approach but it won't happen with high probability

Well it seems to be a new series. It is in the other active thread with very limited details so far.
As for an anime series? Just depends on who would be willing to pick it up and if their production company thinks they can turn a profit on it and the figure sales. It has been about ten years since FMP came out as a anime.

As for the manga we only have to wait for a couple of Sigma Takobon's... |
