Happy to see the Pats with home field, and the Jets sent out in the cold till next postseason. Past few years it seems like the super bowl for the Jets tends to be beating the Patriots in the playoffs then losing immediately and wasting the spot.

Damn, that Carolina game final score was an embarrassment, I know only like four defensive starters were on the field, but damn. Can't wait for next year.

Green Bay's back-ups put up 45 points, Green Bay should dangle Matt Flynn for some picks. 480 yards with 6 TDs and 1 int; Holy Shit!

They will. I'm sure either Cleveland, Seattle, or Washington will want him. Whichever doesn't get RGIII, so likely Washington.

Watching teams squandering huge leads vs. Patriots has all the nausea of cleaning up a truck stop bathroom...Who's really praying to Tebow? Jesus Skywalker Pats rely on the ghosts of teams' past and $hit...It's utterly mystifying...

Rams get the game vs. the 49ners just close enuff to give me a second aneurysm, so it is what it is...The Who dats will have to play 3 games to get to the SuperBowl but ain't no team scarier than us right now....And Drew Brees has put his case out there for atleast co-MVP this season...he's having arguably the greatest season in NFL History, they better give him a piece of that Trophy!

Saints sittin' pretty...Obliterated the record books today.... Yeah it sucks the 49-lives'ers have the #2 seed on us, but the playoffs are on, it's time to go!

Fantastic season Saints! Visually, the most epic team to watch on TV this year! Keep that Superman shirt on tuck status until next year, Dilla^^..

Gronk is an oaf. He's really awkward and goofy and interviews. Just makes the guy more likeable. I didn't know Jimmy Graham was on pace to break that record as well. It really is a passer's league now, all these records being broken at once.

In a season where the lockout caused offenses to run over Ds early in the season, not all that shocked about all the broken records. Heck you have two 5,000 plus passers and two TE breaking the reception record. Tons of offensive records are being set.

On whether Brees or Rodgers deserves the MVP its kind of a toss up for me considering how dominate they both are. I would have to give it to Brees though since he has all those records to go along with his amazing play this year.

All the offensive records aren't a surprise at all considering how the NFL has given defensive players nothing to work with the last couple of years.

From 2-14 to 6-10 including blown 4th quarters leads in about five games, three times more total offense this year compared to last year with more than twice as many TDs, and the worst defense in the league (only five starters from the start of the season was on the field and Sherrod Martin blows). The shirt will remain unzipped.

Indeed. Give the O an offseason to gel, I think they'll be extremely dynamic. Sadly we couldn't into defense this season. And penalties were just drive killers/extenders, of course.

System QB would be more applicable to a playbook with tons of short throws that requires consistent YAC to move down the field quickly. Anybody who watches Green Bay play can see how Rodgers can laser balls into small opening in defenses for large gains easily. I would just say that Green Bay is a great evaluator of QB talent coming out of college.

Not that Brees doesn't deserve MVP if he gets it, but Rodgers isn't the favorite just because of a system.

Brees passed for 389 yards and five touchdowns, and the New Orleans Saints set a slew of NFL and club records in a 45-17 blowout of the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. The NFL single-season records set by the Saints (13-3), who head into the playoffs on an eight-game winning streak, included offensive yards with 7,474, team yards passing with 5,347 and first downs with 416. Brees, who was 28 of 35, finished with a record 468 completions this season, breaking Peyton Manning's 2010 mark of 450. He finished the season completing 71.6 percent of his passes, breaking his own 2009 NFL record 70.6 completion percentage. Jimmy Graham had 97 yards receiving to finish with 1,310, exceeding Kellen Winslow's 1980 record for a tight end. But New England's Rob Gronkowski finished with 1,327 yards, establishing a new mark. (FAAAAAK!) Darren Sproles had 40 yards rushing, 29 yards receiving and 99 yards on kickoff and punt returns to finish with season with an NFL record 2,969 combined yards, easily breaking the previous mark of 2,690, set by Derrick Mason with Tennessee in 2000. Brees surpassed 300 yards passing for the seventh straight game and 13th time this season, both NFL records he already held and simply extended. The records come one week after Brees passed Dan Marino's 27-yard-old single-season record of 5,084 yards passing. Brees finished the season with 5,476 yards to go with 46 touchdown passes. Remarkably, Brees didn't even play most of the fourth quarter for the second time in three games. As was the case in a 42-20 win at Minnesota two weeks earlier, Brees was relieved by Chase Daniel after the Saints had built a commanding lead. Although San Francisco's lopsided victory means the Saints could not improve their No. 3 seeding in the NFC playoffs, coach Sean Payton had said during the past week that he wanted his team to continue building on the torrid pace it established during its second-half winning streak. He was true to his word, with aggressive play calling that produced a franchise record 617 yards of total offense. It was the 13th 400-yard game for the Saints this season.
