Oz probably had his suspicions, but he has only seen 3 ppl he knows since coming out of the abyss. If sharon and break looked the same why would you think this 20 something year old guy would be gil, theres no way he could know 10 years has past.

Especially since they didn't tell him and he did not pick up a newspaper to read in the other episodes to ascertain the date. I thought that this part is surprising because people normally try to figure out "time".

Pretty good episode. Raven is revealed to be Gilbert (duh) and 10 years have passed since Oz's disappearance. They eventually come face to face with the Baskerville, Zwei. He(?) has quite a creepy chain, and his sound is kinda scary too.

Episode ends with a cliffhanger, but I doubt Oz will be dead

I don't think there was any incentive for him to make sure what the date was. Sure, Oz is really intelligent and logical, but he felt nothing wrong with his perception of time when he came out of the Abyss, so he most likely just accepted that he only spent a few hours in the Abyss.
Of course he was suspicious of Older Gil, but with Break and Sharon not aging at all, he probably just had the same guesses that everyone watching did (that Raven was a relative or something). That and his "I'll just go with whatever happens" philosophy allowed for him to wait and let the situation reveal itself, rather than him trying to figure it out himself. And when Oz did find out, it was more of an "oh, is that so?" reaction rather than total and utter shock. He handled the situation really well, IMO.

This also raises the question, why did they wait ten years before attempting to get Oz out of the Abyss (and having Alice beat them to the punch)? If you think about it that's an awfully long time to wait to mount a rescue and retrieve mission, how were they even sure that Oz was still alive down there?

I thought it was perfectly logical that Oz didn't entirely connect Raven=Gil. I mean, he had just come out of the abyss with feelings of cold relief that he was back to normal. Two people are the same as when he left, and most importantly, he hasn't changed at all. The only one who HAD changed was Gil/Raven; everything else was completely normal. So why would he even think that a tall, lanky man who happens to resemble a childhood friend from supposed current day was actually the very same boy, because only his timeline was severly screwed up. Rather, I thought it was rather witty of him to even draw the parallels that he did between Raven and Gil at all. When everything else is normal, the similarities between an older man and his young friend shouldn't have been called into suspicion, but Oz still picked up on the traits they shared.

In 10 years time, the environment should have also changed. Nothing really stays the same. His social isolation and immaturity pre-Abyss may have played a part. Even if you think that it was only a couple of hours, coming back at a point different from departure makes people with responsibilities normally want to ask "How long have I been gone? Where am I?" Stuff that he didn't really ask unless he didn't trust that group to give him a truthful answer.

The similarities between Gil and Raven were too close for them to be brothers. It should have annoyed him to no end and got him thinking before this episode hands it to him on a silver platter.

It does now make you wonder what the hold up was. It took them 10 years to become interested enough to mount a rescue mission. It's like Oz for some reason suddenly became valuable enough to rescue.

It also makes you wonder how come they stopped aging. It's like they also survived a trip to the Abyss.

I thought the pacing for ep 6 was a bit too slow for my tastes and since it did take so long to establish the truth behind Raven, I'm a bit disappointed in the direction that this series is heading. With so many volumes to cover, they sure are padding things out quite a bit :/

Well, the thing is that you don't even know where they are planning to stop/how much the anime will cover. No matter how many volumes are out, I don't think they will try to go all the way to the most recent volume or anything...

Well, but in opening there are some people who make their appearance rather late (for example, 24 chapter) so if they would add some fillers or even still animate 1 chapter = 1 episode... it's going to be stupid, such an appearance of some new guys at the very end of season.

6 episode was... quite good. Animation is still painfull for me (why, why so small budget?...) and I still have impression that movement of lips doesn't pair with vocal of seiyuu. The best of this episode was those three seconds with blonde-bishie on preview... *____* it made me SO happy. And now I think that that person seiyuu (Daisuke Ono) was a good choice - suits him a lot. Can't wait to see more of him in next episodes.

And as manga-lover I'm quite upset that they missed one important scene during reminiscence of first meeting of Oz and Gil... But I must admit that Oz's memories about spending time with young Gilbert... Priceless XD Poor Gil.

There's a character in the OP that doesn't make his appearance until chapter 29. His "arc" ends at chapter 32. The manga is currently at chapter 36. When the anime was first announced, only 31 chapters were out.
So it does seem that they're cutting it a bit close with the current manga, unless Xebec is just screwing with us and not making some characters from the OP appear in the actual anime at all.
I'm wondering that as well; if the anime really is going to go up to chapter 30-something, why the slow pacing and the fillers? We still have so much left to cover.

The environment probably did change, but like you said, he was isolated most of his life and probably didn't notice. And like I said before, Oz has a "go with the flow" personality to a degree that's practically abnormal. "The Abyss? I'll accept it, it has cookies!" "Kidnappers? Meh, I'm still alive." "10 year time skip? You guys didn't change that much..." You could say that what he did (or didn't do) was just his personality, though I don't want to say that I'm concretely defining his personality.
And - "people with responsibilities" - Oz is a spoiled rich brat. He has none.

Hmm, Gil and Raven didn't look so similar in the manga. Mainly because Gil didn't have his creeper eyes like in the anime (seriously, those narrow eyes bother me so much) and the manga wasn't in color.

I'm as caught up as I can be (currently waiting for episode 5), so I can finally comment.

To be honest, I don't see why people are complaining about the animation, besides the colours being a little dull I don't see much of a difference between this and everything else airing this season. Personally I'm pretty happy with the animation so far, while the faces look a little odd at times it isn't a complete mess like some things I could mention.

I'm pretty happy with the voices too, Alice's voice was a little odd in the first episode (too high maybe?), but it was much better in the second episode.

I agree with your last point though. When Ayako uses her "cute" voice for Alice, I just say that it doesn't work. That's why I thought it was much better when she changed to her deeper one in her next scene.

About graphic... I think they should stop using textures on Sharon's dress when she's moving... it looks horrible - when folds of dress are moving, but texture doesn't at all. And sometimes, especially in first episodes the hair was strange... there was some plain glow on them (for example somewhat-pink glow on Alice's brown hairs, which wasn't moving although hairs was). The animation could be better too, there are also many lazy animation used. And sometimes colors and brightness are annoying - too bright or too dark to see anything. Pastel colors are acceptable, but this contrast... But I must say that chara design is very good (which means in my case - very, very similar to manga XD). Compared to animation and graphic from other this season series, Pandora is poor. But still, I love it XD

I noticed Sharon's dress to. Maybe there is a reason why the print moves like it does as this phenom is only limited to her so far like Enma Ai in Hell Girl.
