Katekyo Hitman Reborn! is hilarious. Like FMP though, REBORN has its serious moments, but the awesome actions start after a few volumes of great comedy. The premise of the anime is to train the main character to be a mafia boss.

Lucky Star 4 komas are a funny read, although I suggest the anime over it.

Ranma 1/2 - this was pretty much my first manga, and I still think it is one of the funniest classic mangas out there
Pretty Face - boy got into an accident and woke up to find that his face was surgically made to look like his crush
Seto no Hanayome - yakuza mermaids
HanaKimi - girl crossdresses to enter an all boys school

Urusei Yatsura - Highly reccomend this exceptional comedy series written by the same manga-ka of Ranma 1/2 (which I second).

Gokusen - great josei/seinen series about a female daugher of the Yakuza that goes off to become a high school math teacher.

Genshiken - great pseudo slice-of-life about a college otaku club, and the many trials and tribulations the members go through to support their love of anime/manga.

Super Cruel and Terrible Tales of Mangaka Manga Chapters - Uproarious short-vignette series about the lives of maga-ka: some become rich and famous, some never make it, others start by writing hentai titles and then move up, wheras as other lose their series and must resort to writing erotica to pay the bills. Truuly tragic but ultimately completely hilarous series.

One Piece - Wonderful adventure/action series with some truly great comedy throughout.

Second Excel Saga, Yotsubato!, and Angel Densetsu.

wee just complete pretty face, pretty funny i msut say. i was reading the mxo before that too (same mangaka), seems that the mangaka did improve his skills alot throughout the years =) somehow some char look rather similar haha, but the body anatomy improve alot

Actually i think lucky star lacks comedy, just fanservice and is rather bad. If you're looking for a higher quality comedy you might want to avoid lucky star.

Try dokuro-chan, that's always good for comedy
