This felt like a first chapter of a brand new series. I expect nothing less from Kubo after a three week break.

I like her character design. Bit like a foulmouthed badtempered crossover between Rukia and SoiFon

other than that can't comment much on this chapter without getting kinda aggro on in how far it is worth it for people like Kubo to take a three weeks break to get a better arc started...

A Quincy Arc involving supposedly a renegade Quincy faction going overboard, tying in Isshin and Ishida's dad as well as the King's Guard into the past history of it actually might make for a nice arc - if it were written well, that is

It wouldn't be Bleach if there wasn't a Big Damn Heroes somewhere.

Oh but you didn't know kubo is good and randomly pulling things out of his rear somehow more of them survived

Well, Bleach is entering into its final arc. I'm not sure how I really feel about this at the moment. I just hope that it could go out with a decent bang (the battles from the last arc, especially Ichigo vs Ginjo, was just too anti-climatic). Also, I'm kind of surprised Kubo decided to use the Quincies (heavily implied to be them) as the last villains of the series.

I thought I would make a comment after such a long time, but wooo, Bleach is finally on it's final arc. Hopefully Kubo doesn't OD before he finishes

I think the last arc name isn't symbolism. I mean knowing Kubo it can really last thousand years
Also 2 new enemies at the beginning of the chapter with long hair?

nah, I'd say this is about a war between SS and the Hueco Mundo
shinigamis have been hunting down hollows for thousands of generations

IIRC, the quincy-shinigami war ended already (and I think this was the reason why there are only 2 of em left)

anyway, the figures looks like humans so.... Vasto Lorde?

with the hollow outbreak going on, I'd say they're trying to free Aizen

Actually, if you look at the comment Mayuri made during the chapter, it heavily implies that the Quincies were responsible for the recent events happening in SS.

It has been stated previously (at the beginning of the manga) that Quincy powers differ from Shinigami powers in that Quincies aim to destroy hollows while Shinigami purify them instead. Big difference. It was part of the original conflict between Ichigo & Ishida.

you guys have a point
Spoiler for pic:

not to mention the clothes looks similar to what Uryuu's wearing. But the Espada were wearing white coats too so, I'm not too sure

what would Aizen's role be if this was another Shinigami-Quincy war
I'm pretty certain he'd make an escape somehow

finally it's here..... final arc of Bleach....
not a very amusing opening.... no more Afro-shinigami in Karakura... xD

it's better if they involve every faction in final arc.... Fullbringer's, Vizards, Shinigami, Ichigo's team, Quincy, and Arrancar (no one forget Nel, right?)
looking forward for this chapter.... maybe I can get excited again just like what Kubo-sensei has done for years

Kubo wrote himself into a corner; he created healing abilities for his characters that are so powerful that he no longer has an explanation for why someone can't be healed or revived... With what Orihime was able to do for Grimjow's arm and Menoly, there's no reason why she should not be able to do the same for Yamaji. We also have soi fon who lost her whole arm but still managed to get it back. Only possible explanation would be he's too prideful to get it healed, which is rather foolish since that means he is alloying himself, the strongest shimigami in SS, to go on with a handicap for no practical reason.

The fact that that there should be nothing stopping him from getting his arm healed tarnishes his "sacrifice".
No it's not BS-

sacrifice: To forfeit something for something else considered to have a greater value

Sacrifice does not mean giving up something for nothing; it means giving up one thing for something else we believe is worth more
There is a "No Back-sies" rule of Sacrifice. He can't get it back. He Sacrificed it. It can't be fixed because he didn't give it up, he didn't say --"this a temporary loan. I want my arm back after this is over with" He TRADED his arm for their lives

Kubo didn't write himself into a corner ---It-was-a-SACRIFICE

LOVED THE CHAPTER--but my pain over Bleach ending is keeping me from squeeing right now....

A sacrifice that doesn't need to be a sacrifice is kinda silly though really.

I can't imagine someone not wanting to have their limb back if they could, just because it would cheapen the their altruism, but that's probably because in Yamamoto's case we were never really given a reason why his logic would be so warped, removed from reality, different to what is common. And we've not been given any indication that that's what Yamamoto thought anyway (since we had to confirm his lost arm through an interview in the first place) so it's really just baseless speculation.

It seems like Kubo wrote himself into a corner really. It was essential a choice between a Fantastic Aesop and a Broken Aesop, of sorts.
