Plot Summary

Once you fall for someone, you can't stop the love. A strange encounter spurs the meeting of Amakusa Ryou, a high spec businessman who's loose with women, and his high school sister's best friend, Arima Ichika. From there, he falls madly in love. On the one hand, he approaches her with almost too straight-forward methods, while she responds simply disgusted, insulting him without hesitation...and he takes it as her way of showing love. This is a romantic comedy about a twisted elite employee and a normal otaku high school girl.

Crunchyroll has the first episode up today.

Heh, Ryo has a funny way of talking to Arima especially when he just straight up asks about a kiss. Arima and Ryo's character chemistry had my attention the most so far. It'll be interesting to see how their relationship will develop from here but the two seems so different.

Animation quality looks alright but nothing too attractive. Ryo's more amusing than I had thought as a character. Ryo's sister is cool. I kinda like her more than Arima tbh.

Cool, in Japan this anime would come out earlier on amazon, now I have good hopes that the same will happen with Joran.

This guy reminds me of the hero's ex brother-in-law from Working/Wagnaria, the masochist who was desperate to get the hero's sister to take him back while unable to stop infuriating her because he loves it when she beats him.

I've never been fan of the super hot guy and the otaku girl trope but when the guy is funny like this guy is an OK for me. I enjoyed the chapter, pretty funny and fluffy, ryo sister is a nice bonus too.

I liked the opening too.

I feel like I shouldn't have enjoyed it too much, but it was a pretty nice first episode. How things move forward from here and how the characters continue to interact will determine if it has any staying power. But it wasn't bad.

Maybe my favorite bit though was the sibling cooperation. Giving her brother some extra time around the girl he likes and in exchange she gets some ice cream .

The opening was pretty nice to be sure.

So we have an attractive and successful businessman whose used to having his way with women and then not staying for breakfast or even bothering to remember their names and a normal, nerdy, high school girl who is generally kind to a fault (even when she's blunt with her remarks). When these two come together said businessman becomes lovestruck .

Pretty solid Opening that fits this kind of series, being peppy and fun while seeing the leads in their own lives, separated from each other, but inching closer together or popping into the other side of their love interest .

Ryo's antics towards Ichika definitely kind of toe the line between romcom antics and creepy stalker behavior, which I guess is somewhat the point. Ryo is also unabashedly a masochist when it comes to Ichika's insults and point-blank statements as to how scummy she sees him .

Rio's a fun take on the typical gal pal given she's related to Ryo and is playing more wingwoman for her brother than her best friend, and is mostly doing it because she thinks her brothers antics towards Ichika are fun for her to watch. She's also quite the looker herself .

That woman may have been teasing a tad too far, but I'm not sure if she deserved Ryo ruining her makeup. It's not like what she said was wrong .

The Ending illustrations are pretty nice and the theme is very soothing .

It actually wasn't that bad...
Except it had one problem that is actually kinda... unique?

Yeah, you see, the male particularly sounds like he voiced his voice clips at home and sent it to the studio. It was uniquely muffled and hard to hear. And then the people responsible for the audio at the animation studio didn't give a crap and just used those clips.
Well, if you need to be bad at something, at least be unique.

I thought something was wrong with my sound settings because I had such a hard time hearing him.

Has there been any other work where it seemed like someone recorded from home? I know it's been pretty much true for English dubbing but it seemed like Japan was less able to make that transition .

I'm sure there are or at least were plenty enough, but usually, the people responsible for the audio did a better job at not making it obvious.

Yeah, this is still pretty fun . I'm glad we took some time to focus on Ryo and Rio. Certainly makes sense that she's helping out so much. This is proving to be one of their first real opportunities to bond as siblings. Though even then Rio has places she'll draw the line.

Also a good chance to dive more into Ryo's history. Has always been a beacon for women and trouble. Kind of curious about the state of things with his and Rio's parents. Haven't appeared yet and had a pretty unstable relationship with their oldest child.

Poor Ichika with the 1am drunk call . Though things didn't end badly for her there. I suppose we do need some positive development on Ichika's side of it so it isn't just her being upset all the time. No rush to have her be won over, but it's getting there.

Y'know, on the one hand it feels like the relationship and Ryo's antics should feel kind of creepy but instead they just come off kind of...wholesome, for some reason .

Ichika just can't help herself around Ryo. Either she's getting caught in an apron and welcoming home or feeding him to shut him up. Even a slap turns him on .

We find out more about Ryo and Rio's relationship. They weren't always close as siblings, especially with Ryo causing a ruckus in the house because of women throwing themselves at him and Ryo acting carelessly with them, but they finally managed to bond over Ichika and Ryo's earnest desire to be with her .

It's good to know that Rio is willing to help her brother out in so far as she doesn't emotionally hurt Ichika. She's having fun with this, but she doesn't want her brother hurting her friend .

We meet Masuda, who has apparently been buddies with Ryo since they were students, and is marveling at his friends newfound love and how much it's changed him. Somewhat obsessively, especially after discovering he's a masochist, but it's still a step up from how he was before .

Ichika and the girls did look good in those kimono's...and at least Ryo asked for permission at all, even if he did it after taking numerous photos of her .

I'm guessing Tamura will likely be a love interest for Ichika her own age to contrast with Ryo .

Episode 2 was actually... pretty good. I'm surprised. I even stopped noticing the ever-muffled voice of the guy.
