I think the question of the jumping vaults does make sense, but your answer can be applied like this:

"Why are the jumping vaults bulletproof?"

"Because the students attend P.E. class while the teachers shoot at them with live ammo from the sidelines"



And about the lack of gate security, I believe that as a part of The Island, the school is considered "In the Green zone" and that the real question is about the security of the Island's entrances.

Which I'm sure sea-based incursions aren't also an issue

Their security is the thousands of armed butei on the island. In other words, they wait for a few of their students to die, and trust that the rest of the student body will avenge their deaths.

The security is very weak for the school. You can get on the island by boat or cross the bridge by walking. Basically anyone can get in if they try, but as ppl had said, there are thousands of butei on the island so you might be arrested if you tried something funny.

Yeah a whole bunch of mercenaries aren't gonna be easy picking's. I remembered there was nary a barrier around the Island so anyone can go diving, not to mention the single road leading into the Island. If they had a private airfield that'd be a nice self-sustaining Island to stay in

2 floating artificial Island. I was also confused if all that building can be accompanied by 2 kilometer by 500 meter

what? that's darn small! what's with the speed cycling in such a small location? I think the author has a perception problem with distance, or is that anime original mention? maybe a small campus. but on an island? as a matter of fact, it will be pretty hard to fit the dorms, unless this is really a small school...

I think the question is something I had wondered about too(but never cared to calculate), and that is, if one is to calculate the Kph of Kinji's Speed run x the length of the Island, either he went slower than perceived, or he did several laps worth of the entire Island's length

as what mangatron said. maybe 1 or 2 laps perhaps. 2km x 500m is way too small. I run a lot. And at about 80% O2 max effort, I can cover 2km in less than 10 minutes on foot.
