Why? Well it's pretty simple if we look at the story... From the very start, Naruto and Sakura have been identical, with one exception, the circumstances in which they grew up in. Her commitment to Sasuke ties in with the whole 'they're exactly the fucking same' Just as Naruto's commitment to her ties in with the whole 'they're exactly the fucking same' So, for the sake of postulating, if this were true, why is it that Sakura went for Sasuke whereas Naruto went for her? Wouldn't she kinda realize Naruto is the dude for her and shit? This relates back to my previous point, the states of their upbringings: Naruto = Without parents Sakura = With parents (KEY KEY POINT HERE) Sasuke = with parents, got killed If we were to look at it in a different perspective, we'd see... - The reason Sakura hated Naruto is because SHE never understood him, and because of this, she dismissed it as HE not understanding her - The reason Naruto liked Sakura was because he understood her from the very start Don't believe me? This applies to many other characters... Gaara = Thought his guardian loved him, turned out she(or he?) was a CIA agent or something hired to kill him(I think) Pain = I vaguely recall his tired out backstory but it was something about having his dog spot killed, thus leading him to go bat shit insane. If there's another observable trend to spot is that Naruto CHANGED every single one of these people... Next on the list? Sasuke = Had parents, got killed. Now he's seeking revenge and blahblah Anyway, point is...Sakura, being a normal girl from the very start, had normal interests and intentions; Hot boys with big kunais. Naruto(Always taking unorthodox methods to approaching her for some delicious ramen), was an obstruction to this self righteous love, thus, effectively earning hate from Sakura's end, inadvertantly. To further reinforce my point, look at Hinata. She, unlike virtually every other girl in the Naruverse, instead of going for Sasuke, she digged naruto. This is because she, unlike every other girl in the naruverse including Sakura, understood him from the start, this is because she too, could relate to Naruto from the start. If ANYTHING, the focus of part 2 has been kishimoto undertoning the potential of Naruto being someone Sakura could potentially fall for, because throughout the story, she is starting to understand him, step by step. I believe this whole 'having sakura kill the one she loves' thing is sorta neat, cause once Naruto saves him and shit, that'll just be another sheet on the 'why Sakura really loved naruto from the very fucking start' pile capable of contesting with Tsunade's own. oops, maybe I shoulda put that in spoilers Last edited by Let'sFightingLove; 2009-12-08 at 09:45. |

Must you do this every single time?
It may be irrelevant to you, but believe it or not, some shippers actually want to see some romance and it actually developing rather than the end result.

Let'sFightingLove You have a good point there with which I fully agree.
Just because Sakura hated Naruto in the begining and didn't understand him doesn't mean that it can't change. Actually there is a bunch of real cases where people who hate each other, end up as the biggest lovers ever. Sakura finally understands him, not fully but she is on the right track. Even though I don't mind SasuSaku, Sasuke really doesn't deserve her. She did everything for him and yet he doesn't give a damn. Sasuke should stay with Karin even if he doesn't care much about her either. Spoiler for manga:

AWESOME POST Let's Fighting,I agree to all of your statements
but I kinda confused what kind of love. Because Naruto said "she in love with Sasuke" denotes romantic feeling but for Sai, Because "she loves him" kinda denotes love like friend/teammate. The SS stated Sakura will kill Sasuke because of her LOVE for him. that's confuses me also but afterall: SHE WILL REALIZED |

In the end she doesn't think Sasuke will come back. What that essentially means is that Naruto now loves Sasuke more than Sakura loves Sasuke. I'm not kidding.

I think we've known for a while that Naruto loves Sasuke more than anyone. Naruto would probably treat Sakura's death the same way he treated Jiraiya's. It would bother the hell out of him, but he would recover.
But his beloved Sasuke? That would get ugly.
