So what I'm getting at what if the one who asked Mio to protect Yamada was actually the Devil but knowing Mio she mistook the Devil for an Angel...
I just want to see Setsuna ask Mio if it's that "angel" she was talking about when/if AnN appears, only to say no and when a man with horns with a face that say "I kill you cause I'm bored" Yes that's the nice angel!

@ Sayo That observation is mighty interesting! We already knew there was some sort of connection between Yamada and Ann but this really looks like an extra confirmation and extra fuel for some of the theories already mentioned.

I've been looking a bit at the stigmata and I noticed a few things which might or might not mean anything. I've pasted the five we've seen up until now together with the exception of young Blade's(since it looks to be the same as Arclight) and the one on Mengroze's hand(since we haven't seen the real one directly)



Saten and Uten's stigmata have both appeared on the left side of the body and seem to share a fondness for straight lines and symmetry. When we look at the one supposedly from Arca and Teruyama it looks like their "theme" is curved lines without any symmetry whatsoever and appeared (coincidently?) both on the right side of the body. The one Arclight has looks symmetrical at first but isn't quite and is smack dab in the center of the body. It also doesn't look much like any of the other stigmata.

Might mean absolutely nothing but I'm theorizing if we see another stigmata on someone else it's looks are going to depend on which side of the body it appears. I'm hoping Seth will show a stigmata next time.

Ynot that's a really good observation. If Seth does develop a Stigmata hopefully it won't be centered on say her back so we can confirm this. One thing I might add is while young Blade's stigmata is similar to Arclights his appears to be smoother, and more together. Arclight's stigmata is jagged, and seems to have more (pieces?) flowing away from the main part. I don't think it means a whole lot, But I can’t help wondering if their stigmata's grow over time. The more fragments that they memorize, the lager the stigmata becomes.

I'm going to go off on a limb here and say that Cruz's ability is knowledge/omniscience. The Girls' Squad was only lying back when they said Yamada's Needless was deductive reasoning to solve that murder case, but that might just be it. Arclight and Blade may have the bodies capable of using multiple Fragments like the Second Christ, but I think Cruz may just be Adam's brains with true understanding over the Fragments.

Actually, I'm thinking the City arc will end shortly, Cruz will gather all his friends to form a final team (like we saw in the one Ultra Graphics for Chapter 95) and go to another setting, perhaps on the Ark or somewhere interesting for the final showdown with everyone. I'm guessing it'll be similar to how the first half of Needless went with Simeon arc taking up a bulk of the time then switching to Arclight arc for the final few chapters.

Interesting, thanks for compiling those images together and providing that bit of analysis on the fragments. I'm sure we'll see some more Stigmata shortly, so it will be interesting to see how this applies to the new ones we see and if there are any differences between them.

Then it may very well be next chapter. And just like with the Arclight arc, the location is gonna be still the same, where they are now, though it will focus on something entirely different.

And given how the latest chapter ended, Cruz ought be the spotlight of this final arc that will mark the end of the first part and serve as the bridge to the beggining of the second half.

Dunno about Seth. She may have acquired one, but if so it didn't appear when she used her new improved gravity powers. And it does seem like anyone who has one is showing it off at the drop of a hat at this point in the story.

Anyway, you've got me wondering if the position of the Stigmata indicates which side the owner is on. Left being "evil" and right being "good", of course (noting that Arca was belatedly revealed as working against Arclight, and Mengroze's (on the left) was a red herring). Though this wouldn't explain why the Adams' are centrally placed. Nor why Cruz's is on the left - if that's what it is, and assuming it was only his left eye that displayed it. (And if it is Stigmata, and it's in both eyes, what then...?)

As for the shapes, I don't know if those are significant - most seem fairly abstract - but Uten's could be a stylised representation of his spear, and Teruyama's does rather remind me of a phoenix. Which would be appropriate in a number of ways.

I was thinking more along the lines of which part in the brain is responsible for the ability/stigmata to appear, a part in the left hemisphere, the right or a combination of both. With an equally balanced combination of the right and left brains hemisphere I'd expect the Stigmata to appear in the middle. That's also why I think Blade's Stigmata didn't get transferred to Eve, but simply ceased to exist.

Of course this is hardly anything more than guessing, but to me it really looks like there's something going on with how the Stigmata look and where they appear.

There likely is some rhyme or reason to what shape and location the Stigmata appear, especially since we know there are 12 and they appear in pretty specific locations. I wouldn't be surprised if the shapes were related to something, too, though I wouldn't have the slightest idea where to look them up, if they are part of a collection or something.

Even more interesting is if we could link the 12 Stigmata to the 12 Apostles. Kinda curious who Judas would end up being...

Well, actual stigmata allegedly appear in the locations of the wounds Christ received on the cross - namely his hands, feet and side. (Let's ignore the fact that historical research suggests the nails were actually driven through the wrists...) Occasionally there are other marks as if from the crown of thorns, or the scourging prior to the actual crucifixion. However you count them, it doesn't add up to 12, nor do their positions coincide with most of the Needless Stigmata. So that doesn't get us anywhere...

Even more interesting is if we could link the 12 Stigmata to the 12 Apostles. Kinda curious who Judas would end up being...

That would mean equating Christ (or rather, his clones) with two of his own followers, which strikes me as a little problematic. Also, I'm not sure the apostles are interesting enough characters in their own right to make it a worth while exercise. I mean, I could say "I think Uten most resembles Bartholomew," and most people would just scratch their heads and say "Who the heck is that?"

John, the "disciple whom Jesus loved", is traditionally depicted in art as a rather effeminate young man, so much so that some people claim the person in the picture is actually a woman (Mary Magdalene being the usual suspect). If you've read The Da Vinci Code, or seen that documentary that exposes it all as nonsense, you'll know what I'm talking about. Now, who in Needless potentially possesses a Stigmata, and is male, but often mistaken for a girl?

Well, I figured since Arclight and Blade are both clones and not actually the Second Christ himself, they could count. After all, the 12 Stigmata are said to be the ones closest to the Second Christ and we know the 12 Apostles were the 12 closest to Christ. And I doubt they'd be deliberate or explicit connections between the characters and the religious figures but maybe a trait or something that is common or similar or there's some connection or something.

Also going back to Arclight and Blade, could they be James the Greater and James the Lesser? =P

Needless has never had a problem of showing skin when it needs to be shown (and more often then not, it doesn't need to be shown). For example, if the Agnishwattas Fragment were to appear elsewhere on the body, Imai Kami could've simply drawn Aruka biting Arclight somewhere and when pulling her head away, tearing the clothing to reveal the skin where the Stigmata would appear.

Then again, ripped clothes and other fanservice is generally limited to just Cruz and the girls but most of the male cast (Blade, Saten, Teruyama) certainly show plenty of skin with their torsos. And Uten wears shorts to show his Stigmata, too. I do think that if we see a Stigmata or if it is to appear there will be skin visible to show it but I don't think its a limiting factor if a character is wearing clothes over it.
