Another key point was that Tama doesn't seem to remember anything about her past. Next episode, Iona hungry for some battles and arranged for some kind of event.

Still, the fact that she was willing to take the risk for (in her own words) a stranger, does show a lot, IMO
Granted, I sense that Yuzuki has accepted that her own life is practically over, but that shouldn't be an easy decision to make considering no other Lrig did that as for Tama.. not sure what causes a Lrig to forget things. It might have been the context of her wish (if she had one) also, is it possible that we are closer to solving the mystery behind Ruuko's past?

Yeah, seems like Yuzuki gave up her life as an human in this episode.
I'd like to see some hints about Ruuko's past before the end of the season, or about Tama. Something making difficult to wait for the second season.

Even though Yuzuki did break down a bit, and made a sacrifice, she sure took things a lot better than other anime characters in similar situations.
She has some acting skills, guess that's how she hid her love for her brother for so long. I liked her voice when she pretended to just be a regular LIRG on the job while introducing herself to Hitoe lol. Looks like Hitoe went back to background character right away. Ru has some pro stalking skills for Hanaya and Yuzuki's brother to not notice her following them right behind lol. Well, hanaya noticed, but still. I wonder since Ru has in posession, Hitoe's LIRG, can she battle with Yuzuki? Kind of a battle by proxy. It could come up. Iona did a mass callout to all selectors. Looks like we might have a battle royale the next episode or two.

I think the user of the Colorless deck is a guy and the key character in second half of the season. Also, he will not be a Selector and may hold answers for Ruko. I'm surprise there weren't any male Selectors. The "Colorless" are really mysterious.

This may have been a slow ep, but boy was the suffering taken to another level
. Yuzuki was really amazing. Being able to sound so enthousiastic, going "Hey, let's do this", while hurting so much. She's a master in hiding her feelings indeed. And damn, that nod from Hanayo, and Yuzuki thanking her . Hitoe's wish still having friends surprised me. I'd think she'd go for "anything better than this", or something like that, as the memories cause her so much pain. Yuzuki's faith is in Hitoe's hands now, but it looks impossible for Hitoe to fight in this state. And than there's Hitoe's mum, echoing the feelings of Ruuko's mother, right in front of Ruuko. . The interaction between Ruuko and Tama this ep was simply beautiful. The battle-lust has toned down considerably, it's all about friendship. I loved how she let both LRIGS watch Iona's message. Gargoyle . And mystery girl is Mayu. Does she make the rules? Will she be the final boss? There's still so much unanswered, there must be 2nd season right? Quote:
Uhm, you're not able to enter the game unless you're a Selector. There's no colorless deck, but there's a white deck. There are no YOBS in this game, there are LRIGS. |

Well, Episode 10 was genuinely surprising anyway. A bit slow-paced, but highly thought-provoking.
I didn't expect the Hitoe/Ruuko battle to come to such a sudden screeching halt, even before the OP started playing. I'm also a bit surprised at how Yuzuki is taking all of this - It's a bit better than I'd expect, although there certainly is some logic to her position (i.e. not wanting to regain human life if it means she can't be herself, and has to be Hitoe). Yuzuki struck me as very emotional, and a bit impulsive, throughout most of the anime, so I'm slightly surprised at how emotionally composed and reasonable she appears to be right now. I think that Tama is sincere in what she said to Ruuko. Which is interesting in itself. Does that mean that Tama is a, shall we say, LRIG-by-birth? In other words, somebody who was never a real girl? One particular dialogue exchange that I found very interesting is the one between Ruuko and Hitoe's mother. It starts at about 11:25. One particular line I found intriguing here is... Hitoe's Mom: Hitoe... She was so sweet, but I don't know what's in her mind right now. She scares me. Starting at 12:02, you can see Ruuko being a bit shaken by these words, and I think I know why. I think it's because Ruuko heard very similar words from her own mother - Words that her mother was saying about Ruuko. This begs the question - Was Ruuko a Selector before, like Hitoe was? Back when Ruuko was a very young girl? Did she lose three times like Hitoe did, and hence lose her wish (of that time)? Did this cause her to change a lot, like Hitoe did, hence freaking out her own mother just like Hitoe's mother is now freaked out? Now, here's an added idea, going back to Tama... Maybe when a LRIG's girl loses three times, that LRIG is sort of reborn as a new LRIG, with their memories erased. Maybe that's what happened to Tama. As an added twist, maybe Tama was in fact Ruuko's LRIG way back then. If this idea is true, maybe we'll see an amnesiac Midoriko show up again with a different Selector. Pretty wild speculations, I know. It probably says a lot about the quality of this show that it can inspire so much speculation. One final note - Piriluk being stern in the face of Akira threatening to rip her card up takes on a new meaning given what we know now. It's possible that Piriluk was suicidal and/or was disgusted at the idea of having to become "Akira" and personally fulfill the wish of ruining Iona. Speaking of Akira, I wonder if she's going to try to crash Iona's upcoming event in some wild attempt at revenge on Iona, Ruuko, and/or Selectors in general. It could all make for a pretty exciting, if not thrilling, end to Cour 1.

Yuzuki... such a good girl deserves better than to end up like this. Someone... please save her.
Did Hitoe regain her memories in that moment before she collapsed? Tama... I can't help but wonder if there's a connection between her and the girl in the room with the excessive bloom: Mayu. Tama's complete lack of memory and the fact that it seemed that she needed to even just learn how to talk in the beginning makes me wonder if she really was some sort of newborn being, rather than a human originally.

on the topic of ruuko being a possible selector before, id also like to add the fact that ruuko doesnt/didnt have any wishes... like hitoe was.
considering how ruuko is now, perhaps her wish was something like peace? then when it got corrupted, well, ruuko became someone who liked to battle?

Okay, finished watching. My thoughts:
1. Yuzuki. Wow, such an amazing character. She's strong enough to recognize that she can't do anything about her position at the moment, and neither can Hanayo. She thought Hanayo had betrayed her, and was just after her body, but learning of the game's design and seeing Hanayo dutifully fulfill the wish really gave her a new perspective. 2. Hanayo. I still think she got a raw deal. She may be fulfilling the wish, but I don't think she's happy about any of this either. Yet, she's trapped as well. Even with a body, she can't be Hanayo. She has to pretend to be someone else, until death or some other twist of fate. 3. Hitoe. Amazing. I had a feeling, but her wish being confirmed here means something interesting. The game can influence her wish, but it can't remove it. I'm not sure why this is important, but I feel it's something huge and will be important later on. Also, I wonder about that last scene in the hospital? Did she remember? 4. Ruko. I think we're seeing those earlier episodes of uncertainty pay off. This episode was clearly the trigger. She wants to make a wish, but she doesn't know how to put it. Also, check that conversation with Grandma at the end. I swear that sounds like Tama. Speaking of, if it were ever not obvious that Tama and Ruko are not normal, this episode has cemented it. Hitoe's mothers words, Tama's memory loss, Ruko and Tama's similarities.....it's all right there. 5. Maya. Not much to say, but the scene itself is notable for showing all of those areas with bars, including Yuzuki. Symbolism. 6. Iona. The game has begun! There's so much story left. I really hope there is a second season.

Some kind of official source listed WIXOSS as being two cours a while back ("12 x 2" was the terminology used, I believe), but the "x 2" was removed from the website after a week or two and it reverted to simply saying "12." So right now we're just kind of biting our fingernails (or I am, anyway ), hoping that there will indeed be two cours despite the confusing mixed signals.
