Maybe there's some part that they can hear, and some parts that not ? Maybe after someone declare a tsumo, the comment can be heard at the game stage.

It's in the manga.

But anyway, clearly it's Touka simply thinking the same THING as the commentator. She can obviously notice for herself that Nodoka is close to a perfect game.

Although she does say "-tte"... oh come on people, lighten up.

P.S. Announcer is voiced by Minoru Shiraishi of "Lucky Channel" fame. Guess he's typecast as the male half of a male-female sitting behind a desk pair.

Okay. Given the comments earlier, I was expecting much worse and was pleasantly surprised. Yes, GONZO reused several animation scenes but overall, it was such a hilariously cute and fun episode!

I couldn't help but go "Aaaaw" the entire episode. Momoko is cute, the "I want you!" was cute, and of course, Yumi-chin being alternatively obsessed and embarrassed over the incident. Haha.

As for Momoko, so apparently it doesn't affect electronics ... It only affects the people at her table. That's still a pretty cool power and given that it doesn't affect electronics... Well, good foreshadowing and setup by the story.

Why does it have to be one or the other? It's both, of course.

Is Momo's eye-covering hair hypnotizing the opponents or what? lol

And wow, if her power had any type of play in real life, that basically would be the second ultimate weapon other than sheer luck.

She's basically like a phantom. Captain of team darkness looked cool in the momo-flashbacks.
Hopefully team yuri, team moe and team powerpuff get a grip.

Momo's cute, and she's got an interesting power. Like a miniature Kragar. (Of Dragaera fame. Only if it was him, they wouldn't even start the game. They'd wait for him to show up, even if he was in his damn chair.)

All her "I only need one person" make me worry, though. I fear she'll be betrayed.

I've made Thirteen Orphans once, Little Four Winds once, and Big Three Dragons once.

Nine Gates is extremely hard to get because of Furi-ten. Not only do you need to get the exact right tiles in your hand, but you also must not have any tiles of that suite in your discards.

Big Four Winds is just plain super rare. Since wind tiles are usually among the first discards, you'd need to start with a lot of wind tiles right from the beginning, and get the exact right calls. Not to even mention that your opponents will be very vary of discarding any wind tiles if you have 2 or 3 wind pungs called, so you'll probably need a concealed pung. There's a reason it's worth 2 yakuman by default.
Imagine the most insane yakuman of all. Big Four Winds completed with four kongs and a pair of dragons. Now that would be overkill.

New specialty for Saki? I think even she would've troubles pulling that one off.

True her power is interesting but still in next ep she'll have some troubles judging from the preview. I think that Nodoka won't be fooled as easily as Touka. I mean she's so logical that didn't even believe in "special powers" in the first place. It's impossible for her to miss someone's discards.

I've been watching Saki. Although I didn't knew nothing about about the game (the only mahjong i knew was the one to find pairs ) i'm liking it

it's funny, and it's beautifully animated.

Yep.. I really wish I could find a computer game all in english that taught you the rules and allowed you to play mahjong against AI or human players.(I have been reading/watching a ton of manga/anime lately that have mahjong games) The only thing I can find is those stupid mahjong pair games.

Search for 4winds mahjong if you want to play against an AI, or tenhou.net if you want to play online

From someone who's most of the time playing online Mahjong, isn't it the same as "there is no opponent"?

But I guess it's wrong after all, since Touka is also known as online Mahjong player.

Touka is a bit different case. She wants to stand out as much as possible and has a tendency to overlook those who don't. Like for example Saki. Even though she sensed somthing from her she wasn't concerned about it after that incident at all (well, that's maybe because she's confident no one can beat Koromo). If you add to that the fact that Momo is "gold medalist in non-existence" you get the worst kind of opponent Touka can face.

Meanwhile, Nodoka is the worst kind of opponent Stealth Momo can face. Stealth Momo can't fade from her view because Momo's powers don't work on electronics and by now, Nodoka - Nodocchi - is completely in the mode where everything seems like it's an online game to her.
