I prefer to watch a series at one sitting - if possible so I usually wait for anime to finish airing then I watch it. I don't really like the idea of waiting every single week for one episodes.
I can afford to do that since my backlog still have close to 200 anime that needs to be cleared.

I typically watch them in "batches". And it's set up like this.
Spoiler for Monday-Friday:
Spoiler for Saturday:
Spoiler for Sunday:
And I normally watch animes at night. For Mon-Fri and Saturday, you guys maybe asking why I go through all of that. It's for one thing; Variety. As for how I watch these, preferably through official streaming websites. Ex. YouTube (Official YouTube Channels), CrunchyRoll, Hulu and Funimation. Another thing I'd like to add is that I also watch NHL games. If there's a game that I want to watch and it's during the timeframe I normally watch these anime series at night, I work around it. I watch 2-3 episodes before the game starts, and then watch the rest after the game. Basically, NHL games serve as a break from animes for me. Last edited by DarkJak2050; 2013-10-16 at 05:16. |

My natural way of viewing is marathoning. That's how I used to back in my golden age of anime viewing (early-mid teens).
I don't have the time for that, anymore. I'll usually watch 1 episode a week per show. If I get really addicted to a show (that's already aired), I will sometimes still marathon at the expense of my sleep schedule, which is bad. I like watching currently airing series because it naturally spreads things out. Even if in the moment I wish I could watch the next episode immediately, in the end the wait is worth it. |

I only do that if it's interesting and I want to find out what's gonna happen or how it'll end. Otherwise it's gonna be torturous lol especially if it's slow-paced. anime is meant to be seen once a week so it's not a bad thing necessarily if it's slow-paced it's just not geared towards marathoning. I remember watching anine once a week at one point in my life. it was fun looking forward to the next episode and looking back on all the things that occurred on the series over the past 26 episodes or more in the span of the past 6 + months after I finished watching it. I like that feeling a lot.
I'm pretty patient and I'm not easily excited. Even if there's a big cliff-hanger and I have to wait one week, that's fine with me. I'm okay with it as long as I see it at some point whether it's in the next few minutes, next week, next month, even longer as long time hasn't passed so much that I don't remember all the important crap that happened up to that episode.

Depends on the anime. For instance:
I watched Attack On Titan over a weekend as I didn't wanna start watching it until the season was complete. After I watched the 1st ep when it was released I knew there was no way in hell I'd wanna watch it unless I could watch it straight through. Future Diary was a show so ridiculous that I couldn't pull myself from watching so I finished that on a weekend as well. But there are shows that give me a passing interest so I may watch one episode every other day. Right now I'm doing that with Inuyasha, Fairy Tail, and Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminar. So like I said, I'll cram or not, it just depends on how much I'm enjoying the anime. |

Considering I try to give every anime series a chance, this tends for me not to have ANY anime leftover to cram, as either I like the series and watch it every week, or drop the series after 3 episodes and never touch it again.
There's few exceptions though, and one such example this cour is Little Busters. In general, if the series is divided into arcs that's needs 4-5 episodes to get it told, and I liked enough of what I saw in 3 episodes, I tend to leave it till the end of the season so I can marathon it in one go.

I've only actually crammed a few titles throughout all episodes, since I got really invested in what was going on (like coming home everyday, watching first priority). Most I will binge-watch at the beginning but then slowly lose interest (I just kind of forget to plan out my watching). Those tend to drag on for weeks and months.

These past few years I feel like I don't marathon a series very often, while I regularly used to complete 24-episode series in one sitting before. More often than not I just jump back and forth from one show to another after a couple of episodes.
It's kinda like how I tend to start playing a video game even though I still haven't completed another game I started before. It may have something to do with the fact that I watch more crappy and mediocre shows than before though. |

It's a mixed bag for me as life and work gets in the way.
I've always preferred marathoning a series. But working normally stops that. Other than the odd day here and there I catch up on the current shows I'm watching on a Sunday. At most its about 6 episodes in a sitting. The odd series after a couple of episodes and normally listening to podcasts I'll save to marathon later. When I do marathon it's normally when I've got a week or two off work. In a week I'll see a couple of series of 26 episodes or say 3 or 4 1 cur series. I've had a week of work twice the last 2 years with the flu. All I did way kick back on my sofa and watch anime. Ben-To was a great way to put my mind off feeling rubbish, but hurt my throat laughing. Same thing with Watamote infact. Once in blue moon I'll marathon as much as I can of a series while still working full time. But that means lacking sleep as I work nights, so I'm limited to 3pm to 9pm. I'd rather sleep before I start watching so I can be more refreshed to take it in. I hadn't seen the Berserk series until last year, I saw that in about 4 days that includes the first 2 films. Quick for me nowadays. Back in the day when all I did was a part time job 7am-10am 5 days a week. I meany a time I've started a series working out to see all of it before I had to get ready to goto work. Ah, great days! That's what I'd love now 15 hour a week job, but paying my full time pay. |

It depends really, I usually cram shows I like, but if I start loosing some interest I'll slow down a bit, if it gets juicy then I'll start cramming it again.

I don't cram, I marathon.
Had to do that cos my backlog is HUGE. Besides I also need to finish up my VNs(and that backlog is HUGE too). If I don't have the time, I'll maximize my time and try to marathon as many episodes as possible.

If I got the time and am bored, I sometimes tend to watch a lot of episodes (either of the same show if I'm backlogged or from different shows) right after another. And when I don't, I sometimes tend to save as much for a day when I got more time, so I can watch everything in one sitting.
