First thing I thought was where it fit into the timeline. orz

In terms of visuals, it seemed like a step backward in comparison to Twilight Princess but now that I see it another time, it's starting to grow on me.

Gameplay-wise... the Wii Motion feature seems intuitive but I'll probably just use the regular Gamecube controller. :x

In short... can't wait to get it.

I was really worried when it was first shown off at E3. The handling looked ATROCIOUS, but Miyamoto chalked it up to radio interference. Still, I didn't like the way Twilight Princess handled with Wii controls and I wanted them to fix it this time around. From the actual hands-on reports I've read, the controls actually seem to feel great and responsive, unlike the stage demo would lead you to believe.

Actually, it's sort of a mix between Twilight Princess and that "cartoon crap" style of Wind Waker. Basically plopping bright, slightly cell-shaded colors on Twilight Princess designs. I've read that Miyamoto was going after a painterly "Cezanne" look.

While I've never been a fan of the vibrant art styles of some Zelda games, this looks like a pretty good mix of Twilight and those vibrant graphic styles.

All in all it has caught my interest, but not in a way that I'll buy it day one.

The art style reminded me of the spaceworld 2000 Gamecube visual demo for those old enough to remember it.

Can't say I'm sold about the game.

I really loved Wind Waker's graphics. This looks a little awkward, but I'd still buy it if I just had a Wii.

Looks boring to me, Nintendo's other announcements were way better.

The title is a little akward. "Skyward Sword" sounds more like a title you'd find for a DS Zelda game (not that those games are bad, but they have awful titles) than a main platform game.

As for the visuals...no problems on this end. Personally, I though "Wind Waker" was beautiful, so mixing the more realistic character designs of "Twilight Princess" with the visual effects of "Wind Waker" is a definite plus in my book.

Whe I first saw this I thought "Wow, the 3DS is going to be THIS good?"

Then I saw it was a Wii game. DOH!!

Then again, it resembles a very polished and cleaned up version of the now pixelated Orcarina of Time universe, which is always a plus.

I can't help but think of Wind Waker when watching that promo video, which is great news because it's easily my favorite of the series. Just hope i don't have the same problems i did with TW, though that's mainly just me not really adjusting to the Wii mote for action games.

I think Nintendo needs to ease up on all the gimmicks in Zelda games and get back to what made OoT so amazing, solid gameplay, ambiance, and storyline.

I hope they'll make it more of a spiritual sequel to The Wind Waker than Twilight Princess. No more empty environments, the freedom to explore, less rupees, rupees actually being useful, and most important: NO MORE PATRONISING EVERY TIME I PICK SOMETHING UP.

Twilight Princess was a disappointment pretty much from the start because it went back to Ocarina of Time and made its bad aspects even worse. The two last ending sequences weren't even well executed. Usually the The Legend of Zelda games are at their strongest at the end.

That's what I thought. It sounds a little like a filler episode of an anime. :O

I'm sorry, but storyline is not what made Ocarina of Time great. It had really great gameplay that was ahead of it's time, but the story was ridiculous.

If you're talking about the rupee thing in TP, that's a glitch they never got around to fixing.

How was the story ridiculous? It was really simple, focused a lot on setting and mood and was ambiguous enough to keep you interested. That's how a storyline should be done in a game like Zelda.

I think you're confusing atmoshpere with story, which was basically "Find all the magic ammulettes and save the day," no twists or turns, nothing out of the ordinary, except for Shiek's real idendity which was fairly obvious. I really think that Zelda is one of the greatest video game series, but storywise it just is nothing special.

yeah, Zelda games tend to be the same old **** when it comes to story. But, they make up for it by having fun gameplay and cool stuff to do, so personally I don't mind.
