While I can't tell you how to run the game itself, you ought to check out RAR file if you want to know about the format. Rar is a compression format like Zip.

type win rar in google, you see the first page its rarlab.com , download win rar from it, then you can unpack your file.

You need to burn in to CD or else get a program that will create a virtual CD drive.

I'd recommend Alcohol 120%, but you can do the job with Nero.

on of those virtual CD drives he's talking about can be done with daemontools which I hear is the easiest to use and free...

You'll have to mount an image but i suggest you go through the help section first:

Found on Daemon-tools.cc:

Daemon-Tools cannot open my image! Why?

1. Your image wasn't created by a supported burning program.
2. Your image was 'dumped' badly. Recreate it using a lower reading speed and/or use another burning program to create the image.
3. Your ISO image was created by EasyCD. EasyCD creates images with the ending *.ISO, but these images are no ISO images. ISO is an open standard and EasyCD violates it's specifications. Recreate the image using another burning program. Anyway we do not recommend the use of EasyCD on a PC where Daemon-Tools is installed (or the other way round).
