Sorry to bring back a topic that has been dead for a while, but I've recently been watching Nadesico again (I bought the think pak Nadesico box set) and was wondering, in light of what was mentioned in the last few posts, if any more details are available regarding the story and/or ending of Nadesico: The Mission and this novel that accompanies the story?

Just watched the movie and I am shocked after knowing what they did to Akito. I never though he could turn into something like The Prince of Darkness; the plot was SO dark, that could be nice if there was a happy ending at the end... but there was not...
I understand Akito didn't want to show himself as the Prince of Darkness to Yurika and the crew, but if he did, they could be able to help him repairing at least part of his body. After all their fighting in the TV series they don't deserve that ending. I also would like to know what happend in the Dreamcast game. Since it's only in japanese I doubt I will ever be able to play it. |

I really wish there was a script for Blank of Three Years, but these short summaries are better than nothing.
I have to know, is Nadesico The Mission the last story told in the Nadesico series? I saw some talk about light novels, do they exist? Continuing after The Mission? So, I ran through yahoo auction jp, scanned through possible novels, yielding only a few 'supposed" novel/books. I can't tell if there even official or canon novels. It's been so long, too long, it has been irking me for not knowing the outcome and what happened to these characters. Sigh. |

The Nadesico: The Mission game, I have it with me on the Sega Dreamcast. Sadly my Japanese language skills are next to none, so I can't really do much with it atm I'm afraid... However i do plan to finish it in some way or another. If someone is willing to offer their help, advice or what not just drop me a PM or get in contact somehow.
I thank everyone who participated in this thread, the information provided has been very useful and is much appreciated. I can only hope that the behind the scenes production/planning problem is sorted out sometime in the future and that we Nadesico fans are finally blessed with closure to our beloved story.

wow...a thread that started 6 yrs ago and still semi active. I give props to all nadesico fans!
its too bad they are not making anymore sequels to the anime. I love both the series and the movie a lot because it's one of those anime with a unique storyline of nobody's right or wrong, but war is just bad period. seems like everyone's dying to know the storyline of Nadesico The mission game, but so am i! lets hope someone can shed some light in that area someday! |
