But she was someone that hunted him for a long time and for this reason would be interesting to see how he would fight against her.

I think, that this time he really reaches the bottom and the only thing he can do he start to climb.

I get the feeling that something big will happen in ch 140.

Honestly speaking I'm conflicted about this.

On one hand I don't know how he would be able to escape from a place like that, and I think he already suffered enough in this arc.

On the other hand, him meeting Arata, Touka and Ayato father would be something really good for him. And Touka reaction would be interesting once he tells her " I meet your father".

Things aren't looking good at all for Kaneki, after he got his head pierced by Arima he went berserk, but Arima quickly subdued him...PIERCING HIS HEAD AGAIN.

Ken was able to break Arima's shield, though.

It seems that Arima knows from the start who the ghoul before him was, during the battle he makes sure that Ken know that he knows his identity. He even make sure that Ken knows that he needs a new quinque.

Also in one of the panels, Arima said "kill (or eliminate) Kaneki". I really hope that something good happen in chapter 140, otherwise I don't know how he will survive.

Something tells me we won't be seeing Kaneki for a while...again.

This chapter was brutally and beautifully design, the trace was strong, Kaneki is always suffering alone.

Absolutely fantastic artwork in this chapter, but the cliffhanger....wow. It's the first time in a while I've genuinely wondered about the future of the protagonist. That was brutal. The fact that the investigator knew what to expect leads me to believe the Doves have inside information. A mole, perhaps? Owl seems to be the only thing that surprised them, and only because they don't know how he got through their checkpoints.

140 will be huge. It has to be.

tbh my first reaction was, did the mc just get killed off.
Though can't see how the outcome of this can bode well for Kaneki, save for some sort of intervention.

Well, Kaneki does have two big advantages. First, he's got ridiculous regeneration powers. The torture arc proved that. Hell he had a freaking centipede in his brain and he managed to survive. So I don't think durability is an issue. Plus, ghouls can evolve, quite rapidly too.

But the mental damage is certainly piling up. He's not much of a protagonist if he's loopier than Deadpool.

anyone else puzzled how humanity managed to even last to modern day with these super ghouls running around?

I mean it's been established even janky ghoul are immune to standard blades/bullets so you need something like siege weapons prior to the 20th century to kill them since i doubt they had the technology to make the quinces' back then. (even if they could how did they even kill the first ghoul without a quince?)

so how did humanity even survive the middle ages much less survive to now.

There is ghoul experimentation but the story hasn't suggested that all ghouls come from experiments.

As for how humans have managed to survive, who knows? Maybe the Doves are an organization that has dated back thousands of years? Right now it's all just guesses and speculations.

I think that in chapter 140 we will see the full "kakuja" mode. (or the prison).

Also, I'm the only one to noticed something strange? Ken's "Rinkaku" came out from a different place than usual and in one of the pic took the form of "Hands".
