After reading the latest spoiler and illustrations of Index NT 9, I just pray in my heart that Izuru could do half the developments and awesome stuffs Kamachi'd done in the next year. I mean I kind of expect more from a series where hot-headed teenagers wear suit that can annihilate armies, we has (maybe) a conspiracy of some kinds and we've some clues about what is it as well as some developments about it (aka the bunny-girl, trolling, evil genius mad scientist, Tabane,...) and you give us some half-heart rom-com in the next volume ? COME ON!

P/S: Sorry about the rant, and I'm a friend of this account's owner and he just let me borrow his so I can post some questions about series I like in here. Don't blame this on him.

Well, it's not just famous. It's also annoyingly good. Yes, annoyingly.

As far as I can tell the author wrote this about three things: Robots, characters, and harem rom-com. The first two he does exceedingly well. The third he does so horrifically bad it comes off as a parody. We love the robot fights, all of the characters (even Mr. Clueless himself) have tons of fans, and then we get to the harem part and everything goes to hell in a hand basket.

seriously, think about how great this series would be if instead of a harem, we had their original motives expanded on.

Spoiler for How they could have been written:

Houki -> she has a crush on Ichika, but also an inferiority complex towards Tabane and aggression issues (the real thing, not her tsundereness)

Cecelia -> Hates or distrusts men, probably could have been written as a rival to Ichika

Rin -> Hyper-active genki girl who trolls everyone, except Chifuyu

Char -> Her family issues, and she should have kept pretending to be a boy

Laura -> She's nice to a grand total of three people: Ichika (who she treats as a rival for Chifuyu), Char(her only friend), and Chifuyu (who she...still worships)

Sorry for the rant, but this could be so much better

Eh, the three-volume straight repetition of 'tournament -> tournament interrupted -> new girl and/or Houki gets powerup' before Vol8 kinda fits your description too. Vol8 was just more blatant in its execution.

Readers came to expect repetitive volume, they don't expect volume 8.

It's hilarious when the action scenes and plot are better, the harem aspect considered even worse.

I repeat a previous question, but volume 9 when? I'm finishing the side stories, and even if sometimes IS makes me roll my eyes, it's entertaining.
I hope it's before i start my go to all Index novels. Because that will keep me occupied for a really long time.

I'm here for the setting. I follow the voice actresses until their characters regress into yanderism. I might even play the mmo if it existed.
