And Beldarut is on to her. That's why he told her that story I think. He wants her to go to the Brimhats. I just hope she doesn't use forbidden magic and then get caught. If she does that and yet fails to save her mother, and also gets caught and gets her memory erased or worse, that'd just suck.

I liked Coco's answer for the third path to just then be told off after the rescue was done why she shouldn't have done it. xD
She's a good girl, I never wanna see Coco in despair becoming a Brim hat and with Quiffrey at her side as her professor I don't think she will.

I really hope she doesn't turn into a Brimhat. Or if she does, that she doesn't stay on that side.
Riche's brother looks like a girl. I was fooled at first. Dammit, author. @James Rye: Agreed on all points. I wouldn't want her to be in despair either.

I caught up on this manga recently. It has very amazing art and story with great pacing. I always love series with magic as the main theme and this one has a very creative take on it, along with some very amazing worldbuilding you don't see that often in manga. And of course, all the characters are lovable. I was so happy to find two updated chapters.
I can't help but think the Brimhats are so obsessed with making Coco join them because of something related to her father or his side from the family. When there's a protagonist who is a type of the chosen one and one of their parents is missing, it almost always connects there. I love Qifrey like most characters, but I sometimes question how much they should trust him as he's very obsessed with getting his revenge on the Brimhats and won't let anyone get on his way or help him. He can't even let his best friend Olruggio get involved. I don't doubt Qifrey is a good person and teacher, but sometimes the best of people can forget themselves and cast those they care about aside while pursuing their goals. |

Qifrey really feels like a good guy at heart who is trying to be the baddest he can be... and looking at the story direction he may actually succeed and become the very thing he loathes. That makes his character all the more tragic I guess.

The brimhat loli was pretty cool. But it seems she wasn't alone. The loli was called Ininia while she referred to her staff as Lord Restis. And she said Lord Restis was her master. So, maybe this Lord Restis was messing around with some dangerous magic and ended up becoming a staff.
It goes to show being a brimhat witch involves some serious risks.

I get what Tartar is talking about but if you were to hand out magic knowledge freely among the people, how long would it take for criminals to start using fire magic for burning down crops and homes? Keeping the Brimhats and their experiments in check is already difficult enough considering how much trouble the witches got to find them, an entire world where everyone can use magic at their leisure would be a disaster for the Witches Order.
Cool that the castle is anti-magic which makes sense since magic could also kill or curse or charm the king and his family so they need to be extra safe. The kids made some cool and useful items, I can see them selling really well.

Chapter 59 was real nice. I liked how the Sage refused so adamantly to be healed in exchange for more magic information. I really liked the double page where we see all the characters and their thoughts about magic (safe for two of them) and all the panel lines going into Coco's head who is also thinking hard about magic and how she wants to use it.
I wonder if the King will become a Demon king after all, especially if the Brimhats offer him some on a sliver plate.
