Mokei Senshi Gunpla Builders Beginning G

Welcome to the discussion thread for Mokei Senshi Gunpla Builders Beginning G. Please use this thread for all topics related to this series.

Plot outline from ANN:
Quote:
The main character of the story is Haru Irei, a boy who becomes a "Gunpla Builder" after a fateful encounter with the Beginning Gundam plastic model. (In real life, Bandai is producing a Beginning Gundam model kit in 1/144 scale, but has not set a release date or price.) Rina Noyama is an always cheerful girl who, like her friend Haru, is a big fan of Gunpla. Haru's pal Kenta Sakazaki is a boy who loves Gunpla and gives advice to Haru about building them.

So, in this series, is there a Gundam series on TV that the characters watch?

It probably won't happen due to length, but it would definitely be interesting if there's a "show within the show" thing in this where we get to watch a new, more "traditional" Gundam series in this.

BTW, ElvenPath, this isn't an OVA. Its more of a television special per the link.

This show is more like a parody of the gundam series to me I mean we've briefly saw the Arche Gundam look alike & of course 00 quanta look alike.

I really hope these Gunpla models won't suddenly start talking like the Medabots or Pokemons. The idea so far is a giant wet dream for gunpla fans. If they manage to pull this off in real-life I'd give up on my life and play Gunpla forever.

The premise of the story at least from I've seen is that they build these Gunpla models, then "battle" them in some type of game machine. So it seems this isn't going to be like an SD Gundam show.

Beginning Gundam sorta reminds me of Victory/V2 Gundam.

So not only do we have the animated debut of the Hi-NU Gundam, but we also see the reanimation of the Bawoo from ZZ, and the Zaku Sniper. I thought the Bawoo had more mods in the PV though...

Nice to see the Bawoo make a comeback. Its definitely one of the best enemy designs from ZZ.

No more Zakus though, please. Give us more obscure and underrated MS's instead! And something outside of the EFF-Zeon arc would be nice too.

Yeah Beginning reminds me a lot of V too, but now that I look more at it, I feel that the streamlined limbs have something from Turn A to them.

I Totally Agree With You On This, Hi-nu is my favorite type of Gundam especially the classic color that looks awesome. Although there are many new colors come up but for me no one can beat it.

As much as I hate these kind of shows I think I'll have to give it a chance since it's gundam. As much as I want to see hi-nu animated I almost feel like it's a slap in the face of such an awesome mech to know that none of it is "real" in the show. I'm pretty biased already. LOL I'll probably end up watching the entire show though. Just like I did the second seasons of 00 even though I didn't like it much.
