Spoiler for What is this about?:

Main character, Satou Yu, is a young boy who has lived a tragic life and dies a considerably tragic death. Fortunately, or unfortunately, he gets summoned into a world of magic and swords.

The MC starts his new life the same as the last, weak, and always pushed around by the strong, when he finally gets tired of it, his "special ability" manifests and he realizes he can "steal" other peoples skills with certain limitations.

Thus, his adventure and story of stealing skills from people and monsters begins.

Considerably young mentally, has gone through a lot of bad experiences and doesn't trust people well. He grows a bit through the story, though fundamentally it's him just trying to live surrounded by people trying to use him. Thanks to his ability he grows considerably overpowered, though he has to steal abilities over time, as well as level up, so it takes time.

Spoiler for Is it harem?:

Yes & No, three heroines, the MC is pretty young so he doesn't react romance wise, more as family.

Update frequency stopped for a while though recently it's been getting more updates again and the plot is moving forward bit by bit.

Hell yeah it is, the first female lead is a yandere as well. Though there's been some recent plot developments over the past 20-30 chapters I won't spoil.

Thanks, will fix title. I use a romaji converter as usual, so it runs into some jinks like that occasionally. Also, why I'm terrible at translating the particles/tense.

MC's body is covered in burns from his step father putting out cigarettes on his skin. He also goes off an a really creepy rant when a would-be guardian wants to take care of him later in the story during which he recounts his first present from his step father was a razor blade hidden in a sweet that went through his tongue and into the roof of his mouth. He predictably has problems believing anyone. There's also a bunch of other unnamed abuse.

The story is basically him attracting girls with their own screwed-up backgrounds due to his life being at least as shitty as theirs(if not worse) while navigating a bunch of assholes that want to use him for their own agenda.

So basically, another MC that has horrible parents. I hope it serves a purpose more than just making MC sympathetic. I'm rather tired of that, since many of the times they author go the extreme with it just to make the MC angsty.

Hmm the angsty bits if you can call it that is rather minimal., he does harbor distrust at the start but it's not something that affects the story much.

More like he gains the ability to spot ill will, and more sympathetic to some people and his "family"/harem

If anything the the new upgraded stats seem to be usde much more, in every chapter.
