Just how many dogs are there a Mastiff-type breed, could be considered a Mastiff-type, are not a Mastiff-type dog today but have such an ancestry, or may have such ancestry include? It is hard to say but there are over 85. Some of these breed names are perhaps used for convenience and such names may not be an official name. Also, some breeds might be a collective name. For example, some people might consider the Central Asian Ovcharka to be a collective name for breeds like the Tobet or Torkuz. For the sake of simplicity, I am listing those separately. Also note that some breeds carry more than one name. For example, the Ca de Bou is also called the Perro de Presa Mallorquin:
