Id say Cid is ironic in a way since he is both Saitama and King of this universe. He is the super OP MC, who at the same time gets credit from his harem/underlings who believe he is this mad genius ala King getting credit for dumb luck.

So the million dollar question, is Cid a reality warper and everything is bending to his will, is there a god who is secretly pulling the strings in the background to bend the world to Cid's delusions, or are we supposed to believe he has some maxed out luck stat and the world simply bends to his will and everything is sheer coincidence.

I hope the author has an explanation but I almost feel like he/she will hand wave it, and never explain it ala a macguffin.

Also the other important question, who is actually in harem? Is it just the shadow garden girls? Are all of them even in the harem? From the manga other than Alpha I cant tell if the other shadow girls are supposed to be harem members. Id guess the princess, sister, and maybe the hoodie magic girl are also supposed to be harem members.

There is one other girl/woman, who will appear in volume 2, and arguably, the biggest ship in the story to date
And 2 others that will appear in volume 3

The exact relationship between Cid and Alpha?

I don't think it's ever clear whether or not Alpha has feelings for Cid. So far, all her scenes show she's dedicated to Shadow Garden.

Pretty sure all members of Seven Shadows

The part where Cid betrays her makes it pretty clear that she has feelings for him. The idea that he had abandoned them basically drives her comatose and she can't muster the ability to even pretend to care about anything else.

Oh i thought alpha was a given after the scene where he eats her sandwich, and to make up for it she angles for something in return, in a cutesy girlfriend sort of way.

As far as the others go, they have shown little interaction since its only about 11 or so chapters into the manga. They kind of come off as Rimuru's people who all idolize him like a god. Thats why I like the occasional pov chapter from other characters so you can actually get a sense of what they think.

Though something I found interesting is that out of all the SG members, Alpha is the only one to make any kind of attempt to actually reach Cid/Shadow rather than just worship him.

Technically, Alpha was one of the only people who was recruited by Cid directly as Cid.

Virtually all of the other members were recruited indirectly by either Alpha or other members, who would then exaggerate his accomplishments as Shadow and made his reputation even larger than it was before.

While it's true Alpha still owes Cid her life, she is also still technically the closest thing to a childhood friend.

The other 6 may be found by Alpha but Cid was still the one who saved them

The circumstances are still different. Cid didn't assume the identity of Shadow when he first saved Alpha, and he was the one who personally explained the cult of Diablos to her. While Alpha still idolizes Cid, she still has the most realistic perception of him compared to the rest of the girls since she had known him since she was still just a child.

When Alpha describes the Cult to the other members, the story is going to get more and more embellished compared to how Cid describes it. This leads other members to further exaggerate Cid's accomplishments, further idolizing him and placing his image even further from reality.

You know, I'm surprised that Shadow Garden hasn't pummel Hyoro and Jaga to the ground considering all the antics they put their master through. However, I realize they are holding themselves back out of loyalty for their master and probably, Cid might have told them to spare the two. However if Cid grew bored of them, Hyoro and Jaga are dead meat.

I do like that the manga in Chapter 7 elaborated on this. While I initially thought Nyuu was trying to escort Cid to Gamma, then I realize she actually did two things. Although she hated Hyoro and Jaga, she can't physically harm them but mentally, that was free game. She shows her love and affection for Cid all the while subtly mocking Hyoro and Jaga that they are second-rate nobodies.

Well, Cid purposely chose them as his buddy to strengthening his “mob” image, so SG can’t exactly touch them without the risk of exposing Cid’s identity
Plus to them literally every single action of Cid, even a sneeze, are all deeply planned and calculated with hidden meanings

He isn't looking for friends in them but convenient tools to be part of the mob group, that on itself shows how low of them he thinks.

That's exactly right. However if Cid were to grew out of them and left them, I wonder if Shadow Garden will not hesitate to kill them? They must be keeping the urge to kill for some time.

Nah, they probably will only beat them half death, as SG don’t kill indiscriminately, and they haven’t done anything deserve to be killed

yeah i think he views them as mob meat shields to use for his cover, but at the same time I dont think he will ever let them get killed because they probably become more like those friends no one likes.

Are all the characters with pointed ears elves , or is this one of those manga where other demis like demons and dwarves all have pointed ears?

Wait so let me get this straight he has elves and vampires. Thats like 2 of the top 3, fantasy waifus you want as harem members. If he gets a dragon girl, he will have the whole set.
