hmm, i wouldn't mind heartseed x inaba cause back in ep 1-2 i thought inaba had quite a good relationship with her teacher. i mean she was willing to beat him up. wait was that a manga hing.

It's the other way around.

As the story progressed through Vol.2, 3 and 4,
Iori began questioning her own feelings as she's been "acting out the best of herself in everyone's eyes." She initially believed that her true "self" would be such. However, signs can be seen throughout the volumes that she is beginning to stress out, and the new events of Vol.4 finally made her snap... and boy did she snap HARD. Meet "Ura (Inner)" Iori, she is... scary.

Anyway, Taichi, despite never faltering from his feelings towards Iori, he was rejected right off the bet when he confessed to Iori on Valentine's Day at the beginning of Vol.4 (indirectly rejecting Inaba as well.) It started out messily, but Taichi & Inaba (She'd come long way since Vol.2) quickly recovered. The entire Vol.4 involves the two working together to get to Iori to open up. At this time, Taichi still liked Iori, however we find out that Iori no longer felt the same. She believed Taichi never understood the "real" her.

By the end of the volume, Taichi and Iori acknowledged to each other that they did love each other, and decided that this was a memorable "First Love" but it was time to let go and move on. They are still best friends, but it's no longer "love". Taichi, at the end, accepted Inaba's feelings and offered to go out with her after another life-threatening event. At this point Iori retreated from the love triangle and effectively ascended her role to that of a "Best Friend", "Guardian" and "Mentor" (and a full-blown Shipper of Taichi x Inaba. Vol.6 Iori: "Kiss~! Kiss~! Kiss~! XDD") By the end of Vol.7, the pairing has pretty much been set in stone after that one epic confession from Taichi towards Inaba at the church.

Oh BTW, Iori after the events Vol.4 is made of 200% awesome.

Inaba was kidnapped by thugs. Taichi got hit in the the head by a metal pipe(?) trying to shield Inaba from an ambush after the initial rescue.

It's related to one of the events in Vol.4 involving someone in the school trying to sabotage the C.R.C. Except it gotten out of control of the said someone. Iori was not amused.

You'll find out. They are gonna animate Vol.4 (episode 14-17), which imo is the best one out of the first four.

I read Vol.4 with my limited Chinese, but never really followed the progression of their conversation during the meeting in their dreams. If they did acknowledge that they loved each other, then why was there a need to move on? Is it because inner-Iori's behaviour had soured their relationship to the point of no return? Or is it that their feelings somehow changed along the way?
