The truth is that it has something to do with what people eat in America and it also has something to do with the weather. This means that it doesn't apply to everybody as that there are parts of America that have warm weather and that people eat healthy hearty meals. And thus, there are quite a number of awesome American cosplayers. In fact, every nation has their share of amazing cosplayers and awful cosplayers. |

In many ways people of european decent are far better suited to doing cosplay because we have a much wider palet of hair colours, the problem is that alot of cosplayers dont have the correct body type to pull it off, where as there's far more Japanese people of the correct shape who are into it.

i love it when people say "women cosplay male anime/game characters better than men. Because they look girly in the anime/game"
well How do you know They would look girly when it comes to RL? hmm?

Make sense? P.S. - just curious, isn't spamming written as spamming? not spaming? Can we fix that? The title of this thread has been bothering me :X |

sure makes sense, but wouldnt it be more challenging/fun to be a RL version of that character?
one reason I like S-cry-ed all the male characters don't look girly.

You mean like the actors casted for live action versions of anime? I mean, I see what you mean by "real life" version, but there are things that were never intended to resemble anything in reality, and if someone is gonna mold and deform the character design until it fits in real life, why not just dress as someone new entirely?

Cosplayers try to make themselves to resemble as closely as possible to the original anime or manga character, whereas looking like the real thing itself isn't anime/manga, thus..it has nothing to do with cosplay. Last edited by Shadow Kira01; 2009-06-08 at 23:36. Reason: added cosplay photo. |

But in the case of this thread, I think a lot of it has to do with sites like MPZero which take the work of a hugely talented photographer (just look at the colour saturation) and make them easy to find. I'm pretty open about the fact many of my posts come from MPZero, but there's a lot of other people posting his stuff too... you can tell from the watermark. /End Off Topic I love this cosplay of Kallen and Villette from Code Geass. Especially the third shot. Holding a pistol above your head while wearing knee socks may be impractical, but it sure looks awesome: http://yuuroan.exblog.jp/9037900/#9037900_1 I'm probably posted like half Ibara's old shoots by now, but this one is one of my favourites due to the colours scheme and poses. I don't really care that I've never seen Pia Carrot: http://mpzerocos.exblog.jp/9639816/ |

ZOMG. I wish I could roleplay like that. But I don't know where to start. All I know is to look like the person as much as possible and have fun. But I don't have the money. Or the material! HELP!
These are the people that I would like to cosplay as: Rolo Lamperouge from Code Geass Riku from Kingdom Hearts Sora from Kingdom Hearts Kairi from Kingdom Hearts Rima Toya from Vampire Knight ALL HELP WILL BE WELCOMED! NO CHEAP CRAP! D: |

@Shadow Minato:
I don't suppose you have high res shots of any of those NA cosplayers you posted? Now that I've actually had time to look I'm impressed with the lighting for a few shots, but it's kind of hard to see details. |
