I think s/he means to set on the Home screen. Although Mepple is a male and he has voiced Home screen dialogue =03.

Casino is so stupidly frustrating that I bet half the newbies that quit do so over it.

Yeah, it tends to.......pull cards that defy the odds, so to say. You have tons of chips built up and have a 3 three so chances are high you get more than a three next, but nope you get a two and lose all those wins and chips you stacked up over what should have been a near-sure thing. And it happens all too frequently. -_- I gave up on the casino long ago. Much less frustration.

I trucked along for a while but had to give up as well. It's not fun at all.

Casino is more about repeated patterns than gut feelings.
Learn the basic rules of poker and you're set for life.

That doesn't make it suck any less.

There is also no real "pattern" to it. It's just a stupid dumb grind where you need to ignore the "game" and keep pressing buttons till you luck into wins. It has absolutely nothing in common with real poker whatsoever beyond the first deck rules.

I would avoid it entirely too if it didn't gate steel bricks and moonlight stones. Newbies don't have a choice but to grind out Anat too.

There are other stupid grinds in the game but those aren't as absolutely mindnumbingly boring and as stupid a rng fest.

That doesn’t stop my aforementioned point either, unfortunately.

It is not just a RNG fest, but a rigged a RNG fest.

You know those situation where you got a K and you choose low, and then you get hit by A?
That is so absolutely rigged as the frequency this situation occurs is just out right in the impossible territory.
My worst experience is 7 times, back to back with a A right after the K.

Isn't that the same for the gacha as well....

I'd expect that to be a bit different.

With the gacha, you have x%(usually 3% or 6%) to get an SSR pull, and while it a psuedo-randomized chance at those percentages, I'd assume it is, in general, fairly accurate.

Casino is different. There are times where, when given a 2/50(that's 4%) chance to lose, you do lose, and it happens more often than a 4% chance would normally occur. I wouldn't put it past the game to outright ignore the actual odds, and have its own personal rules;e.g. in the case of pulling a 3 on first round, you have a 7.8%(4/51) chance to lose going HIGH in reality, but in the game, there's actually a 15% chance you can lose. If the game lands on that 15% chance it will deal a card to make you lose.

There are also laws around Gacha and the advertised draw rates whereby they can't rig it like that much, at least not to where it becomes very noticeable. That said, it's possible to be truly on the short side of gacha for thousands upon thousands of rolls as I have learned the hard way :|

Anyway, the casino is indeed rigged beyond belief and the only way to not let it frustrate you into submission is to basically ignore results and move to next round. It's basically a click simulator and the first foray into botting for most people in GBF. If casino wasn't so bad, half the botters wouldn't have started but once they have started, they justify botting other stuff too. Casino really is such a dumb thing.

The newbie experience in the game has improved so much this past year. I am playing an alt just for kicks because I am done with practically everything on my main and there's nothing new for veterans. Compared to what I had to go through last summer when I started out, the game is much easier and nicer for newbies. The weapons they hand out at the start, free stuff from the side stories, much better UI compared to last year for upgrading things and inventory management etc. etc. all combine to make a much better newbie experience. But casino is still a very sore spot and frustrating as all hell. They really should just get rid of it or make the stuff that newbies want easier to acquire. Anat and Cristina are both not very strong at all for the game now overall even if they are still very useful for new players.

Somehow I still love this game. I really hope there's exciting news on the horizon with GBF fest. The game has seen very little investment this year from Cygames who seem content to take the money GBF players pour in and invest it into other franchises instead. I understand that they're a business but it's GBF I love among their many franchises. I don't really care to play their newer games. Please just give me good stuff in this game.

Remember that the odds of having a proper hand is drastically boosted. There is no way you can have so many full house or even pair just like that with the usual poker odds.
If you can't disregard the odds of the doubling mechanics, then just farm tokens with De la fille.

Well, I don't think Casino should gate those mats at all. It's completely orthogonal to GBF as a game and has nothing to do with poker either. If it was indeed a game of Texas hold'em with other players for chips and such then it'd at least be potentially enjoyable but that has it's own share of issues I suppose.

DLF isn't good enough to get the big rewards that you want at the start like Anat and the weapons for stones. She's also not good enough to get the silver bars and the moonstones every month. You have to do an insane amount of content with her and get really lucky to even afford a couple each. Unfortunately, those are the only two mats that you really need every month from the Casino. 20 pots is nice but you can get that in a slime session anyway. (edit: doesn't change what I was saying but it's actually 100 pots per month since 5 a day ... brain fart ... thankfully they are cheap too so you can get them reliably pretty easily without spending too much time in the casino.)

Besides, not everyone has DLF, especially new players.

I already grinded 200m tokens on my main and some 50m on my alt so it's besides the point to me now but it makes for a really negative experience. One of the big reasons I can't recommend the game to my friends is how stupid Casino is. Given how much they have improved other areas that newcomers traditionally struggled with, they should revamp or discard the casino.

Anyway, that's enough Casino whining from me.

I forgot to list it among the QoL updates for newbies but mechanic is one hell of a sugar jump for newbies jeez. Makes farming magnas a piece of cake even with hilariously weak grids.

I don't believe it is "gating" at all.
Stones can be obtained with Arcarum. Silver bars are often obtainable during events. And frankly, Anat is really not that useful for early game. A simple 3* Tiamat is better on the long run, whereas all the tokens spent on Anat could be used for pots and other stuff.

I stopped casino like 2 years ago, and I never felt the need to go back there considering you can have the mats elsewhere without much trouble. If you occasionally need more of them, you should probably have enough token because of events and login. DLF wasn't meant to be the main way to get tokens, but rather something that pile up over time and it is quite noticeable after a month or two.

For old veterans, yeah, you have other avenues and you can ignore it. New players don't really have a choice. Silver bars are needed for practically everything between baha weapons, atma weapons, CCWS and xenos. You can skip the rusted weapons with some grinding but it's not as easy for new players to do that. If you haven't been playing for years and have a stock that has built over time, you really feel the "gate". Anat is still the best summon a new player can acquire without forking over a lot of cash statwise. DLF isn't a realistic option for new players.

Even old players who are more on the f2p side would want those bars and stones to uncap the gacha SR stuff and reduce them for weapon stones and quartz. That they exist at all is a good thing, but the way to acquire them is dumb and promotes unhealthy habits. Why would a game want people to spend so much time away from the game proper is beyond me.

And you have stopped casino precisely because it's frustrating. The fact that you are ignoring its existence hints at how dumb it is rather than not. You just have the privilege to ignore it, but not everyone does.

Anyway, let's talk about something else. I just wanted to rant a bit or something I guess.

I have been forced, thanks to running an alt, to try out charas I didn't give much of a look to before. Some decent surprises. Aoidos is pretty good with his hype system even now. Petra's a solid unit now, especially for Tia x Tia.
