I can see the reference except that Kamina has a mech but Haruhi sald does not, that could change if she had learned of her powers or she oculd secretly wish for a mech and the SOS brigade could build her one to please her.

yea, Haruhi has a lot in common with the hot blooded mecha pilots of the past. The series has plenty of references to those. I'm sure Kyoani has more then a few mecha fans amongst it's animation teams. Not to mention Gotoh of FMP was involved.

Prolly coincidence but somehow Haruhi reminds me a lot of Leona Ozaki from Dominion, similar personality, manners and temper. Though Haruhi is a bit more sane.

The fact that it's not normal for Japanese to celebrate Halloween, is the exact reason Haruhi and the SOS should celebrate it. It's my understanding though that the Ban festival, would be the close equivalent of Halloween, at least that's what Ranma taught me.

I can't remember whether it was actually said by Haruhi or if it was just Kyon speculating/complaining, but I'm pretty sure it was mentioned that Haruhi would celebrate any holiday, regardless of whether or not Japan actually observes it.

Vol. 7 has that line about the "Save the world by celebrating every Obscure holiday: Suzumiya Haruhi's Brigade", if that's what you were thinking of.

I remember he saying that. However, I don't remeber when they have actually celebred any hollyday other then a japanese one. The closest was christmas. However, nowadays japanese people celebre it even tough they don't give a danm to christianism.

What have they celebrate, btw? I can remember Hanami, Obon, Christimas, Valentine's day, White day and Tanabata.
