Yeah, when Honey and Clover finished (I was finishing Monster at the same time) there was a long while in which no worthwhile animes were available until my friend recced Mushishi to me. Since Mushishi finished I've moved on to Blood+... but not before rewatching episode 20 several times in two languages to make sure I weaned every nuance out of it. Tanyuu and Ginko = the OTP. *Chuckle*

EDIT: Just watched it. With previous subs of Mushishi, the background art was beautiful, with h264, the beauty AND detail sweeps you off your feet. Backgrounds backgrounds!!! Last edited by Lost; 2006-04-13 at 04:31. |

Well, it's almost as if episode 20 had been written as an ending, "just in case". If it'd had to serve, it would have done so admirably - letting us inside Ginko in a way that hadn't been done before. That there are six more eps to come only makes it that much sweeter.
While I agree that there have been a few episodes that have been less than stellar, that's unavoidable in an episodic series of this nature - and the remarkable thing to me is that even the lesser stories have still been entertaining and eminently enjoyable, IMO. 16 for example - which seems to have been criticized as much as any around here - was, for my money, some of the best anime I've seen this year. Mushishi is the best show of the season, clearly, and Ginko the most intriguing protagonist. Only 31 days to wait... |

Then I wonder if foreign Mushishi can help Karibusa family. Modern recorder may have to learn several languages for international library. |

I don't quite think that this is the kind of show to be watched in a marathon, although it can be viwed fine that way.
I think that the correct way to apreciatte this show is to view each episode separetelly and digest it well that way. As for the DVD release, is quite good and have an excellent quality, highly recommended to everyone who wants to rewatch the show. |
