Ugh I just watched episode 6. Can't believe shouko died so early in the episodes. Kazuki is such an idiot. Why didn't he go back? Why isn't anyone blaming him? Why isn't he feeling sorry for himself that he let shouko die? Ugh... dude is such an idiot. He should have come back instead of protecting those ships.

I've just marathon the last 14 eps yesterday and this morning. Same league with Zegapain so I kinda like it, also the music style is very rahxephon with the eririeeeee thingy, and the OP/ED is superb. The stuff about Mir etc blahblah makes me confused a little bit around 20-ish esp but they tied it up nicely and makes a satisfied ending.

Also I didn't know this anime is made after Gundam Seed with the same character designer, I watched Gundam Seed when it was first aired but have no idea about this series until recently

Also I rarely feel sad when a pilot in a mecha anime die but Shoko, etc who was killed off so fast in the first 10 eps touched me a little bit , then Michio and that Mamoru

overall 8/10, gotta pick up that OVA sometime I guess.

judging by the picture id say that it defiantly is a sequel...but who is that person in the background...and I REALLY hope im wrong about kazuki and souchi

For me, the person on the background looks like Ryou from Right of Left. I'm glad that they're making a new series because Fafner is one of my favorites but I don't like that promo images, it looks so wrong and gay...

Soushi's back and he's hugging Kazuki. The new character appears too - it's the half-naked boy behind Soushi.

It seems that due to the progress of the assimilation phenomenon, Kazuki can't even walk anymore...

Ubukata Interview Summary
- Ubukata's in charge of the script;
- Themes this time are 'pain' and 'place to go home to'. Since especially the words "place to go home to" have several meanings, I want you to guess;
- The cue/prompt for the sequel was the leaflet from the DVD-BOX.
- Nouto P (roducer?) saying, "Won't you make it again?" was the cue.
- If the creator(s) didn't grow up, it wouldn't be possible to make a sequel for Fafner. That's why until now it was impossible to make it. However, since the TV series we have accumulated years and experience and were blessed with the chance to grow up. So I think "now" we can surely do it.
- I want to do things we couldn't do with the TV series.

About half of the PV is flashback, actually. I think the movie should be fine. Fafner got a good balance between talk and action IMO.

I'm kinda worried about the drawing style... Hisashi Hirai's pics seems to be getting worse ^^;
