deredere means sweet, cut, meek, shy, gentle. It's also half of most compound terms for specific archtypes of girls in everything otaku related.
Most (or all, heck if i know) of these compounds come from halving words that repeat the same letters. Like tsuntsun + deredere = tsundere. Watch Lucky Star for further reference on this topic and awesomeness.

It will, but since they gonna try finish Vol.3 in 3 episodes, they probably gonna cut out a lot of details.

I'm actually surprised I didn't find the light novels at my local Japanese bookstore. It is rather small though. Gonna have to drive probably 20 minutes away to look at another.
