Newtype has subtly lied about every piece of Haruhi news ever.

If anything, this confirms it won't end this week.

If I was a pessimist, I would agree. If I was an optimist, however, I'd still hedge my bets, as Newtype IS still a Kadokawa publication.

Not exactly lying, just... misleading.

They shove Haruhi or Yuki on the front cover and have no real news on Haruhi inside. They only do it to sell copies.

This just confirms what everyone strongly suspected. If it does not end this week, I will be shocked.

Well, true, they would show off what the majority of the fans like in order to sell copies. But the general purposes of the articles have all contained true information as far as I can tell.

I'll be right there with you. I seriously do think it will end at 8 eps, though. How many different animation teams can there be to animate each episode individually?

edit: Ah, Newtype says it ends this week? How exactly do they word that statement? If there's anything Newtype has been shown to excel at, it's the ability to discuss Haruhi for pages while not venturing to assert anything concrete.

I don't know whether to approach tomorrow's episode with sadness, anger, or apathy.

Any words of optimism from the more naive among us to cheer me up with cynical glee?

Cause we all know it won't end tomorrow. T_T

That's phrasing it awfully optimistically.

baltakatei: Yeah, Newtype has always been the master of doublespeak.

You know what's funny? Considering E8's ending, either way, there's going to be RAAAEG tomorrow.

Doubleplusungood.

I want this to end next episode, because entertaining as this is, it's getting kind of hard to stay in denial and believe that Haruhi can bounce back from this.

I don't want this to end next episode, because I made a bet, and after buying Clannad on DVD...well, I need the money. To buy the super ultra glow-in-the-dark box set of Evangelion. For $120, it better be able to to give off it's own light.

You would prefer something like The Cataclysm of Haruhi Suzumiya?

Now I'll be the one to ask the big question, have you ever heard of any instance where a newspaper or magazine in Japan has announced the ending of an arc as big news? Can't say that I have (Usually it's previews and hype for the next arc that make the front page) and it almost seems like a mea culpa. They know, ANN knows, and everyone knows that this arc has been unpopular. Can't think of many other reasons that they'd announce it.

Driving up hopes so that Kadokawa can tear them all down while laughing evilly in the background?
