Btw. in the new opening there is one scene in it (1:09) that looks like someone being revived after he/she got nearly completely crushed or am I mistaken there? If so, the only person that currently got crushed that badly would be Ange but who would revive her and for what purpose (so it is likely not so)?

Spoiler for Theory # 1:

Perhaps on the EP5 game board, the human Beato that supposedly fell off the cliff and was killed by Rosa never died and now we have this new human Beato with long hair and hasn't any memories of being a witch.

Or maybe instead of falling on the rocks, she fell in the ocean and somehow washed back ashore on the island. Although, that might be a bit of a stretch since this happened many years before.

Perhaps the new girl, "ChiBeato" is actually Rika, just slightly older coming to Rokkenjima for some odd reason. It would make sense as Umineko only takes place a few years after Higurashi.

Genji could have been lying about the stories, along with Kanon, to scare Gohda into belief. As far as the totem pole of kitchen pots goes, there could have been other servants on the island - they just hid from Gohda to orchestrate something. Shannon and Kanon should have been on the island for example, since they live on Rokkenjima despite not being on duty.

That part about the magic circle appearing in a few seconds gap, that Genji told, really resembles that part of EP1, when Kanon go get the cutter to cut the chain of Eva and Hideyoshi's room.

I wonder if Beato will redeem herself in Chiru. By Episode 3, I thought there was something odd with her behaviour. Even after the betrayal at the end of that episode, it was still quite odd. Then, in the tea party we see Lambda may have a hand in this. And finally, in episode 4, Beato still shows this odd behaviour, and even tells Battler she wants to die in the red. Will she carry this odd behaviour to the next VNs?

It's odd, by the second episode, I completely despised her (seriously, my head hurt every time she showed up), but in the 3rd and 4th episodes I sort of started to understand her situation and character, and I somehow ended up liking her very much.

Hopefully, Battler will find a way to win the game and save Beatrice. He's the master of contradictions, after all. There's also the OP for ep. 5.

If we assume that the Schrodinger's cat theory is true, then maybe the red text actually creates the truth, as long as it doesn't form any outright contradictions. By contradictions, I mean inconsistencies with other red text, or possibly with piece Battler's perspective. Anything that is unknown is not yet determined.

if we look at it this way, maybe the red truth is a way of choosing which kakera you're looking at for a particular Episode. Since infinite kakera exist, there should always be several for every set of red truths, as long as they don't contradict themselves.
So every time Beato uses the red truth, she's limiting the number of kakera that they could be looking at by removing some possibilities.

If this theory is true or close, it opens up a few interesting points.
Ryuukishi has said that "Battler has only ever been defending in the question arcs; in the answer arcs, he'll start fighting back." Well, Battler has been fighting back, albeit weakly, so maybe this quote means he'll start using the red text offensively in the answer arcs.
And if this is true, then it explains perfectly why the Devil's Proof argument works so well against the witch. If Beato is choosing the kakera, even the most unlikely result could be as likely as Beato wants to make it.

Lastly, if this is true, then it makes the red text look suspiciously similar to Bernkastel's power. From what we are told, she can make any miracle, no matter how unlikely, come true...as long as the probability is not zero. The red text might simply be the parameters for that miracle.

...One last bit of evidence for this: the EP5 OP.
Battler appears 3 times with a glowing red background behind him, and once with what looks like a red sword. Seems pretty likely that he'll be using the red text sooner or later.

I think thats probably a good idea... specifically because, in the EP4 ????, Lambda says that natsuhi's murder was a gun-held-trigger-pulled murder in red, yet apparently before, as stated by Bern, Beato was able to try to create a situation where the bullet bounced back at Natsuhi, using red...

now that I think about it, that would explain why Beato gets so close to losing in the EP4 tea party, because what she's trying to create actually was completely denied by battler... Yeah, I know, "or she was just faking again".

... but of course, wait two weeks, and theres an "OHHHHHHHHH.... I WAS COMPLETELY WORNG..."

Here's a quick theory, sorry if something like this has been brought up before (this is longer than the EP1 thread already lol)

Like most people, I do believe Beato will redeem herself. And now I have a mini-theory about Hair-Down Beato!

Okay, remember that screenshot where Ronove says something about "exploring Milady's thoughts" to Battler, and he responds with something like, "I still don't know, but it was fun."

Now, this is a crazy theory- maybe, while exploring Beato's thoughts, Battler meets hair-down Beato, who is actually some sort of manifestation of Beato's youth or innocence or the good in her?

I know it's farfetched, and it kinda ruins Battler and Beato teaming up (which I would love to see) but it makes...sense, it a way.

I don't see Battler and Beatrice teaming up in the very near future, because in the end, no matter how good she might inherently be, she is (if we can trust her final words in Episode 4) still the one who is going to be responsible for Battlers death.
I think her final sentences can be regarded as rather true, because for the first time she did not say that she was able to kill him because she is a witch and has superpowers and yadda yadda yadda.

Of course it could be another trick, but she more or less admitted that she does not have to be the Golden Witch Beatrice, but she is something that exists outside the known boundaries of the game.

I still consider it possible that they do a turn on the whole 'on the island' wordplay, but it won't happen this episode...maybe next Episode.
But the hidden elevatour to a subterranean dungeon behind the portrait, from which a giggling elderly Beato emerges at night is still a hilarious thought.
