Because there is no new material to animate, unlike FMA.

They could've done movies based on each saga. They did that with One Piece for Chopper's Arc and Alabasta Arc if I'm not misaken and we're talking about the same animation studio here.
Only problem is we'd have to wait a year to get to see them.

In this case why don't we skip to the fight scenes and leave out everything else

I would be highly amused if someone is actually a newbie to DBZ and had no idea what was going to happen next. Highly unlikely though.

Well I would be kind of envious

Having that feeling again of anticipating the next episode without any idea of what was going to happen, but if you're on this site then spoilers are something you can't avoid.

On another note, I can't wait for the subbed version to come out tonight. I envy those that can speak and understand Japanese

They even cut out the part where Krillin says to Piccolo that he wants to take Gohan to eat him and Piccolo yells I AM NOT!!!! I found that hilarious and was looking forward to seeing it again. I mean what the hell, that wasn't a filler, IT WAS IN THE MANGA!!!
