They announced from the start they would be detectives and not superheroes. I guess that's how detectives dress in that universe.

Um, if I just looked at that picture on its own, I would have no idea that it had any relation to the Tiger and Bunny series. The art style is somewhat similar but barely anything else is recognizable. I know they're not supposed to be superheroes but still waiting to hear why I should watch it. Well, just as long as they don't mess up the original anime at least.

The lady pair on the left definitely look like another set of detectives, but is the same true for the pair on the right? Or could they be criminals ?

That would be so weird since we never see such flamboyant detectives in T&B before except for that one dude who is secretly a vigilante (if you want to count him). I don't know if there will be any actual Superheroes in this, depending on whether this is actually in-continuity with Tiger and Bunny or not (which hasn't been confirmed yet) .

And from the looks of what our dynamic-duo MCs are wearing, you might be right, and that frightens me (especially if they add some idol BS in there) .

It especially stands out since the outfits they wore in the original promo art seemed pretty believable for what detectives would actually wear, but I guess they wanted to glamorize them or something ?

I don't think this is going to turn into an Idol anime, but what they're wearing do kind of come off like Idol costumes...

I'm still not quite sure what this is .

It...kind of looks like this takes place in Sternbild? I guess there's a bit of a Tiger and Bunny feel there.

Are those vials the source of people's powers in this?

Also seems like a weird mix of CG and 2D animation (I mean, Tiger and Bunny had that mix but it made more sense with the heroes in their power armors being CG).

Episode 1 is out on Crunchyroll today.

It started off with a more serious vibe compared to the original Tiger & Bunny series. We also got a guy named Doug who holds the Sergeant Rank. The episode introduced the setting and idea of dealing with dangerous criminals.

There are detectives, cops, etc. I think for most parts, the show maintains a feel of the anime I was expecting and there's definitely potential here. I'm pretty curious to learn about the rest of the The SEVEN-O Special Crime Investigation Unit. The idea of the show is interesting with the character pairs being tasked with dealing with trouble.
