Argh.

Just wanna say this, but the 90% status and possibility of imminent release is making me click the tab containing the W-H news page and hitting Ctrl+F5 for every other minute. >_<

Maybe you shouldn't update with a such close percentage. >__<

Or maybe it's just me. >__<;

No real compromise here I guess, but I think that at least the % doesn't leave you in the dark.

That said, I think you should rather close the said tab/window of our site for sake of your own sanity. Honestly, I doubt it would please anyone who checks the site without being overly anxious and the like, if we start taking down the updates and leave you with the same vague comments we did at the very beginning of the project.

Please bear in mind this is the "translation" percentage ONLY. We will still have edit on our way, but it will takes few extra days (unless crazy and k got stuck badly).

As usual, the patch will be released as soon as possible. So don't worry about it, we won't stall the patch (unless it is really necessary).

just a question, when the patch will be realeased i expect more discussions and theories. The problem is we japanese illiterate for obvious reasons will not read any of the previous discussions that are under "episode4" spoiler tags, because there's no way for us to know how deep in the story those spoilers are.
So everything will pretty much start anew.

But there is another problem, people that have already played ep4 in the japanese version might join the discussions, however will they be aware of what is already translated and what is not? Even if we set rules like specific spoliers tag (ie: "episode4 untranslated" and "episode4 translated") isn't there the possibility that someone not aware of the situation could talk about the ending?

Considering all this i wonder if we should open a different thread for the english patch of episode4. I know it'd be kinda preposterous, but how else can we avoid confusion?

That issue was also present for episode 3.
For the same reasons, we won't clutter the forum with again another umineko thread. Therefore, you will be able to use the translation project thread as the sandbox for your theories etc.

That is correct.
Of course, anything past chapter 9 will not be tolerated, even in spoiler tags. I would also like to ask people not to recklessly quote every post and be synthetic, for sake of not cluttering the thread already.
Same goes for quoting spoilers and complaining about these: it will just worsen their effects and might lead to even more spoilers. Report is the better solution.

I should have guessed by the huge amount of replies in this thread... it's bound to become the biggest as soon as the first ep4 is realeased.

That is funnily not the case: all episode 3 posts made for the first partial patch were moved in the episode 3 thread.
Most if not all posts in the translation thread are INDEED solely related to the project itself.

this is funny indeed. This thread is already on par with ep3's and twice as big as ep4's °°;

Dang, Umi4 made it to number 4 on Himeya for the week.

And it's its 4th week there, since they got them back in stock.

I'm going to avoid discussions until I finish EP4 completely. I got badly spoiled last time.

Yeah, thanks to the Witch Hunt. I will probably buy Ep4 as well from there soon, as the patch is coming our ways.

Well, it's a bit late in mentioning this, but in an interview a few days ago, Ryuukishi mentioned our group's name and how he borrowed it in EP4.

Apparently, he liked it because it reminded him of the Blair Witch Project, which inspired him when writing Higurashi.

Oh, and for people still wondering what the in-game Witch Hunt is, that part of the game is covered in the first patch we'll be releasing in a little more than a week (hopefully).

Here's the interview link, by the way.

I still really want somebody to translate that interview. I'm really curious about what was mentioned about EP5 etc.
