But what this 'in work' means? Sankaku made it seens as Tanigawa just started now to write the 10th novel. However, I heared it was suppose to, originally, be realeased just few moths after the 9th(so it not possible nothing had been write until now).

I will say that yes, it is very likely at this point, given how much of a delay we've had... but if that's true, expect an extremely mediocre ending, and a lot of fans divorcing the franchise.

Sankaku is pretty much full of it. That novel was pretty much done, I'm sure.

I don't believe it is going to be the last novel. Right, it was a huge delay, however, if it was the last, Kadokawa would use it as marketing. Make people think it worth waiting cause it is the last novel(so must be well detailed). After all these years, however, not a word was said about it.

Could just be a case of writers block...or more likely trying to figure out a way to make the following stories just as interesting as those before it, since unlike before, Haruhi has a major following, and that is hard to live up to.

... I'm going to laugh if Vol10 is another collection of short stories, and Vol11 is the continuation... no, really. I'd find that amusing, and completely in line with what's been happening with the franchise lately.
