So they're going to save someone called Alex. That can only be someone based on Alex Kidd. He did used to be Sega's mascot. (And the same goes for Opa-Opa.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Kidd
I have no words for my irritation over them killing off Tails! |

So .. like .. what? Is this anime trying on purpose to be as bad as possible? I facepalmed through the first half and couldn't bear to watch the latter half .. dropped for good ... This deserves a negative score .. So -100000000000000 / 10 could maybe do.

Bad? Seriously? Maybe it's because I'm a gamer and I can actually appreciate and understand the majority of the references being made here, but I enjoyed it. Sure it's not amazing and it's not going to set any new standards for the industry, but for a affectionate parody of the gaming industry, it's decently done.
I'm glad they classified Tetris as a mercenary-for-hire and not actually on Sega's side. There was a time when Tetris was actually ported to the Sega Genesis, however only about 10 copies of this version of the game were ever made because Nintendo managed to legally wrangle the console rights for the franchise. If Tetris ends up betraying the other characters down the road, then it should make sense.~ There's the stupid stuff too like Opa-Opa's exaggerated fanservice and Tetris' huge amount of innuendos, but I figure if one was expecting anything greater or serious from a show that's largely parody, then they'd just be a fool. It's too bad this will have several months between it's episode broadcasts. I don't know if they have much material to cover though.

Lets see... The title of the first episode... "The Hard Wars of Consume" ""Hard" Wars" and shares... Seriously if I ever played a game like this, I would need to plan.

Yea, this is obviously not meant for someone who doesn't pay attention to the video game related parodies thrown at us. If you're looking for good plot and perfected execution, definitely picked the wrong show. This is simply a nod for all long time gamers who appreciate the fun little parodies we're getting. I did think this felt rushed, but like others, really enjoyed the bones we got thrown at us, like guessing the characters that are being portrayed...
Poor Tails never gets a break though.

they don't even do much with the names, they just put a name tag on them and that's it. It's not even smart but just exploiting your nostalgia. The pacing is horrible, the event progression is retarded, the characters are bland, the direction is so forced, the fanservice doesn't even make sense but just jammed in.
my brain hurts

C'mon, Marcus on the big green dinosaur AKA Yoshi was pretty neat to watch.
This is the best I've seen Yoshi parodied, only sticking with the show for all the little game references. I do admit the show isn't amazing, but the references are the sole reason why I shall keep going with this.

The Sega side needs, a the Ninja from Shinobi, and the guy from Altered Beast, oh and probably Akira (I think that's his name) from Virtua fighter, although that might be sort of referenced in Gear's clothes, oh and one based on Frogger too.

Yeah, it's supposedly only 3 episodes. The OP shows some characters that doesn't appear until much later in the manga though, maybe the studio just trolling manga readers. |

The 2nd episode is going to be aired on Thursday, 27th December 23:00 (UTC+9). Hoping Crimson and Fifth Avenue had already learn things based on watchers feedback based on 1st episode to make this episode better.
http://oab.sakura.ne.jp/gia/sumikko/paget_70.htm I wonder if CR still continuing to simulcast this though, they still haven't updated their site yet hopefully soon. Last edited by melina_putri; 2012-12-19 at 20:31. |
