The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls 5th Anniversary Party Announcements

In addition to the debut performance of Take me Take you live, they took the chance and used the 5th Anniversary Party to revive the 876 idols!
That's right, a collaboration featuring 876 Production is happening in the mobage Cinderella Girls as a part of the 5th anniversary celebrations!

The 10th batch was announced before, but today they announced the three idols who are getting Cinderella Master singles: Otokura Yuuki, Matsunaga Ryo and Yorita Yoshino. The release date will be announced later along with Yuuki's seiyuu.

A special PV for the Gekijou anime will also be available through the mobage version of Cinderella Girls on 28 November.

The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls Celebrates 5th Anniversary With Gekijō Anime Short
“The video begins with the three idols discussing the anniversary and the years they have been idols. Emi asks Uzuki about what year level of idol she thinks she will be in five years. Uzuki asks Nono how she feels, but she has no desire to comment. Uzuki reluctantly says she will still be around the level of a second-year idol. Emi tells her she should say "Naturally, I'm a top idol." Uzuki closes the presentation with a short speech to celebrate the anniversary: "Huh? Umm, this fifth anniversary is a turning point, so we... uh, well... We'll do our best!”

First up, the Producer Meeting 2017 was held last weekend, and it was a success. Sanpei Yuuko made a special appearance on the first day, and Chihara Minori on the second! During this live, the 765 girls also performed Kouhaku Ouen V along with the producers in attendance, and that CD is coming out on 29 March 2017!

Second, the following Cinderella Girls CDs are slated for release on March:

THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS STARLIGHT MASTER 09 Love Letter (1 March 2017)
THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA MASTER 046-048 [Otokura Yuuki, Matsunaga Ryo & Yorita Yoshino] (15 March 2017)
THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA MASTER Treasure☆ (22 March 2017)
The CDs mentioned above will also have the application forms for the Shizuoka, Makuhari and Fukuoka venues of the 5th Live. In addition, performers for the 5th live will be announced on Friday, 3 February 2017!

I know its very unlikely these will be the only girls in the anime, but that looks like a much better cast already simply because of Shin, Takumi and Sae.

The "cute, comical" manga follows the idols' "real" daily life that can only be found in these panels.

Let me preface this by saying I was rather lukewarm to the original iDOLM@STER series, mainly for the fact the show had difficulty giving its bloated cast the time of day with only one character being an absolute standout. After being unimpressed by the original entry, I'd hold off on this franchise and Cinderella Girls by extension for quite a while

And now I regret not watching--no, experiencing--this show sooner. Cinderella Girls, as of its 1st 13 episodes, is a pleasure to watch from start to finish. Everything that was wondrous about the original series--its sense of progression, the rocking music track, and the fantastic performeownces--is fortified when Cinderella Girls morphs its weakness of a large cast into a strength

It achieves this by splitting the cast--collectively known as the Cinderella Girls--into smaller groups and dedicating an episode or two to the groups rather than the characters individually. Immediately, we're given a sense of what makes each girl tick, and rather than being strapped for time due to the focus often being split 50/50 or even 30/30/30, there's a perfect balance of humors within the smaller groups to let each of these ladies shine. Mio and Rin are the classic outgoing and aloof duo with the more rounded Uzuki consolidating the trio. The sisterly and gigantic Kirari juxtaposed with the childlike energy of Miria or the lethargy of Anzu is beauty in asymmetry. And my personal favorite, the duo of the rock 'n rollin' Rina and the CATegorically girly Miku are the Asterisk of this show as far as dynamics are concerned

But despite being split into smaller groups, not once do the Cinderella Girls proper ever not feel like a group. No matter where an episode focuses, it deftly reminds us of the other characters' presence while keeping the spotlight on where it needs to be. And yet the characters who appear even briefly never feel like afterthoughts to the script, as the sense of progression achieved through their first performances, their first live events, their CD debut... it all ties together as they push each other to ganbarimasu to do their best. The success of one group tangibly motivates the other rather than them gradually going their separate ways, and it's this tight-knit circle that makes the culmination of all their efforts--the concerts--so much more fulfilling for it

If there was one problem I had with this show, it's a certain story arc toward the middle that was too melodramatic for the amount of time they dedicated to building up to it, mainly no time at all. Though the end of the show does manage to alleviate the sour feeling that story had left behind and managed to create something surprisingly uplifting. It once again ties back to the show's sense of progress, which in turn is made much more meaningful with the cast being this close and each of the characters standing out

It's past midnight when I'm typing this up, but magic of The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls is a tale everlasting
