The seventeenth installment of the Precure series, released in 2020. It primarily focuses on animals. It is also the very first Precure title fully released in the Reiwa era, as Star Twinkle Precure was released in late Heisei.

I'm kind of surprised she hadn't been in PreCure yet. Unless she was a mascot character, maybe ?

I remember Nana Mizuki really wanted to be in PreCure too before she got to be in HeartCatch, and she and Aoi Yuki are both kind of "it" girls when it comes to Magical Girls .

Nana Mizuki is an amazing precure, and Heartcatch is hailed by many as one of the best the franchise can offer.

Star Twinkle had some nice fights, espescially near the end.. but a lot of the episodes felt lacking. I hope precure can have a better season this year.

Ok, that was good. That was probably the best first episode out of the last few Precure series I've seen.

And honestly a lot of that goes to the main character. Yes, Aoi Yuki does amazing work and that doesn't hurt anything. But honestly Nodoka is pretty darn likable. She has a great mix of qualities that makes it easy to care. Someone who clearly has had health problems. To the degree that just running around and doing things is utterly exhilarating to her. Because now she has the ability to do those things. So she's running around (though needing breaks), helping people wherever she can since...she has the choice and ability to do it. And hey, her catchphrase isn't annoying.

Heck, the threat is very straight forward. We're not dealing with "imagination" or "sweets power." These guys are going to utterly mess up the Earth and all life on it. Precure are needed to step in and stop them. Should be straight forward enough for the writing staff to not get confused like they were by the concept of imagination.

Even the faerie type characters were fine. Also keeps the battlefield less cluttered if they are going to be part of the weapons the precure are using.

Who knows how this will turn out, but I'm hopeful after this episode. This just felt like a solid start.
