Odd... do you remember which scene that was?

Oho, I found the likely typo! The translation of this line:
Quote:
!sd@ 私たち全員はそういう認識だったでしょうがッ!!」
Has !s instead of !sd.

That would explain the problem for sure.
Mind you, it should have reverted back to normal mode within a few pages, when the next "instant text" gets turned off. But yeah, it'll be good to get that fixed.

Nah, it's not to set-up the mood or anything, because 3 days ago, it was at the normal speed that actually made it better. Now the movements are so fast, that it doesn't really appeal at all :\

I'm wondering out of curiosity, what kinds of bugs will happen if you run Umineko on Windows Vista/7 without having the computer in the Japanese locale? The game was installed in Japanese, of course, but it current is not in the Japanese locale.

Anyway, I noticed on the error screen that pops up, if I right click, and hit "Title Back", or "Load", I can play the game without any problems so far. In fact, it's gotten me past the problem I described above, although in a roundabout way.

EDIT: Nevermind, next time I try something, I'll go more than a few pages. It appears that, like it was stated, the BGM can't be played. Fail. *facepalm*
EDIT2: Or maybe it can be... I think my computer's bipolar right now. Or maybe that scene just didn't have BGM.

If you're not running in Japanese locale, some BGM tracks will play (the ones with only ASCII in their names) and some will not (the ones with SJIS characters in their filenames.)

I think this will be fixed in an upcoming version of ONScripter-EN... I think the bug has been found and fixed but there hasn't been a release that contains the fix yet.

Saw this a few days ago on SOSG and so I decided to translate this:
This is the promo text for the valentines event: Butterfly kiss episode 1.5 - (episode 1: Anecdote)

I've taken out EP6 characters due to spoilers control
it's pretty interesting, generally love letters written by the furniture and witches
See if you can find your waifu here (for me asmo-chan of course XD)
If you look at the texts carefully enough, you will find that they correspond to the characters pretty well

Spoiler for EP1-5:

...I'm not good with translating stuff into English, especially in the middle of the night
I just hope that it's understandable
Hope you guys liked it, and a late happy valentines to all Umineko fans
(P.S. There's still white valentines next month, right?)

They're all so cute ^w^ /

EDIT:
Something I found kinda funny **EPISODE 6**:
Spoiler for Ep.6:

Sorry if I can't mention Ep. 6 here. If that's the case, I'll move my comment to the Ep. 6 thread.

Thanks to Nadeor's post... when I went' to check in the usual source...
I found a bunch of new booklets

The last one I had read was 「Arigato for 556」(2009年8月)
And now I find:

# ひぐらしのつどい3配布小冊子 (Higurashi Get-Together 3 Booklet)

* TIPS「新人司祭コーネリア」(2009年9月) (Cornelia, the new priestess)

# GATE stalemate配布小冊子

* TIPS「勤労感謝の日の贈り物」(2009年11月) (Gift of Thanksgiving Day)

# コミックマーケット77配布小冊子

* TIPS「ゲームマスターバトラ!」(2009年12月) (Game Master BATTLER!)

# Butterfly Kiss Episode1.5配布メッセージペーパー

* バレンタインメッセージペーパー(2010年2月) (Valentine Message Paper)

The first 3 are quite big... Like a small/medium size chapter of Umineko

I believe so, they are written by Ryukishi
SOSG is the chinese forum which I go on pretty often

The tips here were 2nd-handedly translated, it went from Japanese -> Chinese first, and then I translated it from Chinese -> English
I tried to hold the most of its meanings, so my apologies if I mistranslated anything

And also, I can't seem to find other threads that supports this little note
So sorry mods if this is not the right place...no banhammer plz

Okay, I haven't been so active checking for translation updates. But, is there a EP 5 patch that is working with EP 6 yet?

Not yet, but you can expect it to be released in the next few days according to chronotrig's last post.

More like a few days ago. Meanwhile, at Witch Hunt... XD

Just kidding, I know it's really hard to translate stuff, especially when the coding is all screwed up.

Really looking forward to it. Especially since I got rid of Ep5 a few weeks ago and am now itching to read through it again >.>

I saw that there was an update to ONScripter today, that says something about "embedded “ons-en” icon for Windows, a few minor features, and some bugfixes, like for Japanese filename handling on Vista/Windows 7."

Is this the magical fix for Vista/Win7 systems we've been hoping for, or am I just jumping the gun a whole lot?

As my first post I would just like to extend my gratitude to the wonderful people at Witch Hunt who selflessly take it upon themselves to allow different people to enjoy the masterpiece that is Umineko No Naku Koro Ni. Simply put, thankyou for allowing me to experience this series in all it's entirety.

We now have an Episode 6 compatible patch right here.

As previously mentioned, only EP5 and the EP6 opening (the prologue, not the movie) are translated. Also, we don't have a Mac version posted yet. If you just can't wait to start using it on Mac, grab the Windows patch and stick this in it (if you don't know what this means, probably best to wait for the installer).

Also, we're experimenting with a new direct download link for the patch. If it's slow, unavailable, or makes something unspeakably evil happen, please let us know.
