It depends.
I've watched Rurouni Kenshin Tsuiokuhen, Lodoss Tou Senki and Shin Seiki Evangelion with my boyfriend, and movies as well. And it was very entertaining to watch them with him. But, most of the time I watch everything alone, but then I discuss everything with him Probably next year we'll make a marathon of Kara no Kyoukai and watch at least one episode of Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu per day |

I rather by myself, It's easier to concentrate and soak in what's happening. Also, there's just that atmosphere and connection that I get with my anime when I'm alone...more enjoyable. Plus if you didn't understand something or missed something you can rewind without anyone b****ng. ^^

Depends on the series really. If it's an ecchi series or something that they won't like, then alone. But if it's a series like Gundam 00, then it's cool.
In general, I enjoy watching everything alone. No "What did he say?" or "What's going on?" from any newcomers.

I said depends, because on a first time of anything, I prefer to watch it alone. People are distracting when you're truly trying to absorb a show. However, on a second time watch of many series, I do not mind watching with others at all.

Depends, if its an anime with alot of comedy like Ika then I would prefer a group.
If its a very emotional, and story-driven anime like Clannad, then I would prefer to watch on my own.

Well, it would be better be if alone...
Alone in a sense that l can rewind a part that l didn't understand ( coz rewinding makes the other irritated) which l often do because. But it would be nice if there would be someone you can watch it with, like a girlfriend that can relate... |

So many alone votes well it does give a good reason of you watching an anime with complete freedom to rewind it/silence/etc/etc. But I usually just watch it with a friend for after we finish the anime, we can discuss about things concerning the anime.

I guess alone. I tend to devote the whole of my attention to something I'm watching, so I dislike interruptions, such as people commenting on stuff that's happening. I figure that other people like to talk, so I don't actually want to tell them that I don't like it when they say stuff during a show, because I can see how that's really a pretty jerky attitude and I don't want to offend / annoy anyone. It also seems pretty rude to ignore people and just pay attention to a show, too, and I know that I do that. And I never know when it would be convenient for me to say anything either (on the rare occasion when I might), since I might disturb the person I'm with (over-think much?)
So basically I just avoid the whole situation by watching anime by myself. Same applies to movies, TV, theaters, etc... |

It depends. While I would love to impress my friends by watching anime considered popular in the society nowadays, I'd prefer to watch an anime series with someone intellectually capable of appreciating the art in the story rather than just go gaga everytime some shounen punches the lights out of a giant robot.
In other words, it's hard to find someone smart to watch an anime with, so I tend to do it alone. |
