ah.. now I understand why I feel irritated with the ending of first episode...
It is basically because I feel like I saw Fate got molested in there... Blonde long hair with Nana Mizuki's voice

anyway, I don't really get about why they are fighting dragons... Should just ride those dragons and destroy the kingdom

True. There's no reason to obey the orders of the kingdom and protect them. They will gain nothing since they arent "humans" but monsters from the peoples eyes.
I wonder if there will be a scene with mass kill of people. GS and GSD didnt hold back in terms of killing people(which is one thing I can praise).

Ok, some petty officer shoots the queen... The QUEEN!!!! And they just ignored her like some trash. Really?!? There is something really wrong with this country. There is no retribution towards that officer? I don't care who you are, but there is no way they can act all high and mighty after shooting their queen.

Yeah, there are other disturbing parts that have been discussed quite a bit, so no need to go there. However, this whole scene with the queen is just so wrong (and unrealistic).

Well, the Prince just declared the King, the Queen and the older Princess to be traitors because they where hiding that the Princess is a Norma.
They seem to not care about the Queen because she is a traitor to the nation.

Then what about their father? I mean, he attempts to hide the truth that Angelise is a Norma so he should be executed for being a traitor.

With bit of luck, he will be just exiled or imprisoned. But execution is as much likely.

Well, the scene was certainly more explicit than a certain valvrave season a year ago, but I think it did the job, albeit in a weird way. But overall, I think it might be too early to judge a whole series based on 1 episode, which everyone on other forums seem to be doing sadly, not that i blame them of course

It's a little chaotic and little time has passed in the situation. People in the royal guards don't just turn on their queen and kill her without remorse at the flip of a coin.

As seen early in the episode, most Norma are captured at an early age. If they are trained to be obedient from a young age, they probably won't think about rebelling. It just becomes their normal way of life.

If you watch the scene you will see that the guard was not intending to kill the Queen in the first place.
The Princess was fighting back, the Guard warned her, she didn't listen, the Guard shoots, the Queen protects her daughter and dies...

So the Queen dies because she did a Kevin Costner and paid with her lief for it.

You have seen how quickly the people in this country drop a person when they find out he/she is a Norma.

I'm kind of the opposite, I have a soft spot for badass princess themes and am a mecha fan yet (usually the two seem to go hand in hand) and I didn't like how this episode started. To me the show feels like it's headed down the wrong path in trying to be too dark instead of just cornball fun and I don't think it's going to win it man fans if it keeps at that approach.
