Twins, scary, twins... Twins in anime/manga/light novels always have these tendencies to have various... "problems", huh...

Well, overall, it was a decent episode, with the tension of "Who?!" at the end with hell sending. I guess the main minus point are the voices of the twins. Not as bad as Shikabane-bou-hime though.

It's been a while since we got a hell sending show... and it was ultra short... (-_-)

Good episode, but I'm getting more and more confused over Yuzuki's situation and past...

This week, the revenge seems fair to me. The one girl who was sent to hell was the one who took the identity of her sister (even if she was a real b!tch) and srcew with her boyfriend... Jealousy turned her mad, she kind of deserve what happened (more than the usual victims of the third season anyway ).

But I feel really sorry for Yuzuki now u_u':
-Ai is still looking over her all the time (she's some kind of ghost stalker... freaky ^^') and the only clue that is sharing with the poor girl is that her destiny is to become the next hell-girl and "hell is in everybody"... That doesn't really help.
-On top of that, everybody pressure her to apply in some school or College for next her, but has no dream and it seems like she can't imagine having a future
-Tsugumi just let her down (well, she is kind enough to treat her when she collapse, better than nothing ), saying that she has to save herself... pretty harsh, even in the gang's eyes...
-She can't seem to reach her mother at the most critical moment. Already back in ep 21 she was unable to do so... why?
-What with those flashback of the cherry-tree and her crying for help with a much younger voice? Feels pretty traumatic to me.

But luckily Kikuri was there to lighten the mood : "My dream is to become a wonderful Hell-Girl!!~"

I like her the most when she argues with Enma or the rest of the gang.

The Tortoise and The Hare

Managed to watch episode fifteen, but the gap still seems unreachable.

It became confusing to me at following the pace for this particular story, because it looked like Usagi was cornered by grudges in all directions from her brother to her classmates.

Heck, I even believed her jealous classmates were the ones responsible for sending her the photos of her boyfriend surrounded by all those girls, at first.

Nevertheless, this episode had a decent storytelling because I could relate very well with Usagi's character.

I'm also of the kind-type that has a difficult time to express his emotions and rather than putting on a fight to defend myself I remain silent but begrudging within, however, I'm not in that morbid level of indecisiveness like Usagi is.

Spoiler for Usagis' reasons:

I'm certain that for Usagi to have pulled the string against her brother, after all, was due that she felt from Michi's words, "one of these days you will even be able to get a man who loves you yourself", rejected.

Somehow or in another way, Usagi kept her childhood illusion of becoming her brother's fiancee and wife.

In her mind, Michi shattered that illusion; she thought from her brother that she was not good enough to become her wife with those words.

BTW, I noticed that Usagi's voice sounded too familiar and recognizable, hence, I checked info about the seiyuu who voiced her character, and I got right with my intuition when finding out that it was Rie Kugimiya, nonetheless.

Jigoku Shojo guest stars have always been pretty big. Even Fukuyama Jun had appeared before.

Didn't Fukuyama Jun voice Hell Boy back in season 1 a few years back? I just rewatched season 1 and his voice reminded me of Fukuyama Jun a little.

Nope. I doubt he will even appear before the end of the season... At least he is not in the preview for ep 23 and I don't know which role he could play at this point. But well, we never know, he could be a plot device I didn't think about .

It would be kind of refreshing if we got another villain at the end of this season besides the Spider. I realized how repetitive it was getting during the the second time he came back. I'd hate to see pretty much the same thing happen a third time. Hell Boy is really the only alternative villain I can think of...

He was a bit of a comic relief character, can't really see them making a climatic character out of him. Then again, Kikuri was comic relief and look what they did with her. I can't help but wonder what role he could play if he came back. Maybe he could bring Hajime back from the dead or try to get Yuzuki to send Ai to Hell as an act of revenge? Either way, it would be nice to see something different happen.

Oh please no! He made the first season annoying as hell. Additionally, there are no reasons for Hajime to be in hell.

Considering his occupation and the trivial reasons for some people being sent to Hell it would be reasonable to assume that someone might have sent him there. It may not have happened, but it would not surprise me if it had.

A surprisingly good episode...? Well, it was good. Ending with the infinite loop conclusion, showing that it's everywhere. Though the guy himself seems to have gotten a happy end...
Heck, I think it has been a while since we had a decently done hell sending after the person worries over going to hell too...
Though one thing the episode messed up on is that it doesn't bother showing us what happens to the bully's family after he gets sent to hell.

-Some of the cameos in this episode were enjoyable, such as the place of the workers from a previous episode and all of those parody books like Star Wars, Lord of the Ring, and Harry Potter, only with the name slightly changed.

-Mothers at the end must have been blind... How did that look like they were playing together...

Besides, why would he want someone to send someone to hell when he clearly showed how he was against the idea...?

I didn't know HB was against revenge? He said people may think revenge is wrong, but deep down in their hearts they want to crush their enemies (I think there may be some truth to this). He even promised to come back and avenge himself.

Spoiler for Hajime:

Hajime might not have died, but don't you think it's a little odd he disappeared without a trace? He's either living out in the woods or somewhere far from civilization, he's been murdered (maybe by one of the celebrities he use to black mail?), he's changed his identity, or maybe he just flat out died of natural causes? Who knows. I assume he's dead somehow. Maybe Kikuri might have a role in his disappearance?

Oh, do you remember that book Hajime left behind in season 2? Tsugumi said "He wanted to leave it behind to tell a story to someone." I'm now confident he left it behind for Yuzuki, and that she'll discover the book soon, and learn Ai's backstory.

... she keeps bringing the LULZ times. Without her the show might feel just "too" serious. This week again her intervention was totally random but she made me laugh when she came to flame against Yuzuki (who don't give a damn) and shout that she will succed to Ai and won't give up to her.
But well, seems like Ai won't give up on Yuzuki either. But I am glad she finally explain a bit of what she has in mind : basically she makes Yuzuki witness to all those murders so she will finally hate Ai to the point to sent her to hell? That could make sense somehow.
But I just don't see clearly why Yuzuki is so flustered at the end... Maybe because she realises that she is corned : she just can't let things being this way indefinitly and the only way to get ride of Ai would make her apparently become the next Hell Girl. Quite a dilemma .

Hopefully next week will finally tell us about her past and Hajime. Can't wait~

I wonder if they'll ever explain how Ai was able to return, when she was supposed to have gone to Hell for good.

So one of the episodes that I care about the characters and they did nothing to explain why the bullying kid ended up being a bully...I suppose it has something with his fathers death but what's the reason for bullying the rich kid? Out of jealousy for being poor? Actually I do wonder who the bully kid sent to hell but I have suspicions that it might have been his own father...

I would really have liked to known what happened to the family after he was sent to hell...poor imouto

Yuzuki should just give it up...she is so annoying ^^'

I agree with you, I really hate that "detective behavior" with Hajime trying to stop enmai ai, his morality was more annoying than anything else.

did anyone got the impression that people toward the end on the 23rd episode when Yuzuki hears all the bells are people seen in the previous episodes ?
I'm not exactly sure of what I'm saying but look at those people20:46 and 21:06
looks like we have the dog from episode 08, Inuao the ritual performer from episode 09 with the mask in her hand in this episode

edit : i just recognised Usagi the hell sender from episode 15
so i'm know 99% sure of what I'm saying, who can help me figuring out who the others are ?

edit 2 : the boy (with a man holding a cell phone near him) is certainly Kazuya from episode 10

99% chance it is his father.

Worst part is she never succeeds, really. And unlike Hajime, it just feels like she is being too meddlesome... Maybe because she is just a high schooler. *shrug*

The Alluring Trap

Episode sixteen strengthened by good faith upon season three.

This particular episode had good scripwriting; the progress made for a pacing neither hurried nor lagging; and, although the flow of the storyline was predictable, the ending wasn't.

Spoiler:

This was all centered around Yuzuki's sense of fear, reflected in her paranoia around the people she see at walking in the streets with cell phones.

The fear of helplessness at not being able to prevent someone who pulls off the string. I must admit that her attempts at meddling or rushing to stop the client are becoming vexing, but there's nothing she can do about due to her age in contrast to Hajime from season one who was an all grown-up and journalist.

What I called twisted at the end is that what Ai showed to Yuzuki was a grudge from the very close future that went to haunt back the client.

I suspected and immediately realized that woman, Miyajima, was somehow related to that Nakajima lolicon, sent to hell by Nawa for protection of Kayo.

I knew it the moment she grew fixated and concerned eavesdropping the rumours about Nakajima's whereabouts.

I kept my expectations low, because deep inside I knew this episode wouldn't be allowed to end in a bittersweet note; not anyone else sent to hell.

I mean if you have watched the record of this current season, many targets have been sent to hell by stupid reasons conceived of.

But, actually, Miyajima had no sense of decency and ethics. She knew of Nakajima's pedophile tendencies, and yet she did not seem bothered at all, as long as it did not interfere with Nakajima loving her.
That's sicker!!

At the end, Ai teaches Kikuri that nobody, not even her, can stop the grudges, because people can't help themselves but to fear, covet, or hate their neighbors.
