Hmm ... I am still rather unsure of who Mercury is residing in. First guess is also Ayumi, but am not as sure of Ayumi being a goddess vessel as I was, say, with Shiori.

Maybe they won't revive Kanon until the very end ... but it certainly was a good plot device to make the search for the goddesses more imperative (and thus move the story along rather quickly).

No! Not reading and knowing that kind of stuff!

My guess for Mercury is Miyako. After all, she is the only other known character who is in track-and-field other than Ayumi, and she is more level-headed and knowledgable than the latter.

And my further guess is that Miyako just had a spark of love and respect for Keima. What Keima needs to do, in a twist, is to make Miyako fall in love with him.

Seriously, there HAS to be some kind of twist with the last one, it's all been straight so far.

A few more interesting things to note....

Spoiler for Ch 145:

In the image shown Minerva already has a halo.... Using the model of Tskuiyo and Vulcan, that means that there is already a level of affection and love between Shiori and Minerva. For some reason this touches me.

Also, Minerva is actually the first goddess I have seen separate herself from her host other than Diana from Tenri (Diana did so when he went to Keima's house in the middle of the night to ask him to seek out her sisters, if you remember).

Minerva being incredibly shy makes sense when you consider the extreme shyness Shiori manifested before Keima captured the weiss inside her. I wonder what kind of relationship Shiori and Minerva have had up until now? No doubt this will be explained in the next few chapters. At least I hope it will!

This means that she sees Keima as her potential brother-in-law, or sister-in-law. depending on who Keima ends up with (Shiori in the former, Yui in the latter), hence she doesn't mind how Keima's relationship with ANY her sisters turns out?

I think I better stop before I make another self-fulfilling prophecy. This sounds seriously wrong.

Iirc I don't think goddesses can "see" each other when one of them is "hiding" in their human hosts.

It could very well be that Minerva already has some affection for Keima - again, I don't know if we can use Vulcan as a reference point here or no, though. It wasn't clear whether Vulcan herself had feelings for Keima. Although it seemed she knew very well that Tskuiyo had feelings for him.

It seems the goddess can get energy not only from her host's feeling of love for them but also her host's feelings of love for someone else. Of course if the goddess herself ALSO has love for that same other person they can get a "power boost" too.

It would be kinda cute if Minerva DID in fact already have feelings for Keima though.

Huh? This has always been the case. Goddesses don't necessarily have to receive affection from their hosts. Their hosts just have to feel affection for someone or something period. It's why they fuss over who their hosts love/like and have to rely on other people to get powered up.

Heheheheh ... I don't mind the pace at present. I also have a feeling that the final capture (Mercury) is going to be a difficult one and that the author might slow things down and make it difficult and even excruciating. The last one is supposed to be the one who can finally help Kanon/Apollo, after all.

Diana didn't. In that particular case, Tenri was sleeping, so she wouldn't be aware of what Diana was doing with her body. (that sounds dirty... )

I don't see this as a sign that it will end anytime soon. Realy the goddess don't seem to have any magical weiss busting skills that are even above the level of Haqua let alone the teacher and Nora, Haqua, and team Keima still failed to take out a level 4 weiss. Given the more powerful weisses are getting more common and there are around 60,000 still out there and we havent even gotten to the most likely true villans, Vintage, yet just a single wantabe member.

Agreed about the story not ending soon.

I would make a little clarification requiring the power of the goddesses, at least of Vulcan (that we have seen). Gotta hand it to Vulcan at least for taking out the both Fiore and her two imposter cloak beings of Haqua and Nora. Neither of the originals of latter two could do anything against even one of the fake versions.
