I want to read Yoigoshi-hen, the art looks really pretty. >__<; *waits for the tankouban*

The Higurashi manga does a lot better than the anime in... everything?

Are the side arc scans our for download? I really wanna read them!

Just curious if anyone knows if they'll put out Onisarashi-hen and Yoigoshi-hen out on the anime as well.

i don't think they even have any time for minagoroshi-hen, nevermind the side arcs.

I have what is apparently a doujinshi collection of short side stories, drawn by many different artists. The 2nd or 3rd page has one of the nicest pictures of Rena and Mion I haven ever seen.

Onisarashi-hen has just recently finished it's run in vol.8 of CompAce. And Yoigoshi-hen has just begun it's serialization in G-Fantasy (currently with chapter 0 and 1 out).

Yoigoshi-hen is an interesting one, besides taking place in 2006, there appears to be multiple main characters as well. I wonder if the story continued after any particular scenarios from the game...

(From her trademark gun and katana... Mion?)

Still, Mimori-san's art style sure is befitting of a suspense horror manga ^^;

(Like this)

I don't think they even have enough episodes left to portray Meakashi and Tsumihoroboshi-hen properly, nevermind Minagoroshi. ^^;

Ahh... I went on a trip to San Fransisco for college looking and visiting family... which is nice since there's nothing in Florida where I live and I can't do much online shopping. >__<;

So I'm happy, since I bought the issue of Gan Gan Wing (I think... ) With Meakashi chapter one~ <3 I'm sad I haven't been able to find the manga tankouban's (yet), but I also got an issue with the last two Onikakushi chapters in it...

And I must say the preview they had for Tsumihoroboshi-hen was O___O~! I can't wait for Tsumihoroboshi hen! (not to mention I'm in love with Rena after listening to the Tatarigoroshi drama CD...)

I don't know why it's so hard to find the manga, even in the U.S. Just check out Kinokuniya's Bookweb site and it shows a bunch of them.

US West Coast: http://bookweb.kinokuniya.co.jp/indexohb.cgi?AREA=02
US East Coast: http://bookweb.kinokuniya.co.jp/indexohb.cgi?AREA=03

Granted the page is all in Japanese and you need to type the titles in Japanese (just copy and paste: ひぐらしのなく頃に ), but all three Higurashi mangas pops up with in stock availability at their respective stores.

Either that, or just visit the nearest Kinokuniya in your area:

The Los Angeles one is very good. It's always very well stocked although it's a bit more expensive compared to Asahiya in Torrance or several mom and pop stores around Gardena/Torrance but I think it might be because the stuff is air mailed. There's also 2 Book Offs as well in Torrance & Gardena. I don't know what happen to the Mandarake, it moved to Santa Monica then I think it closed. Too bad Little Tokyo itself is a ghost town, sadly. Huh, never knew there was a Kinokuniya in Costa Mesa. I have to go there sometime.

If anyone hasn't noticed, Volume 1 of Himatsubushi-hen manga has been released at the bookstores two days ago.

Chapter 2 of Yoigoshi-hen also came out a a few days ago.

Mion in her 30s... She's just as pretty as her mom, Akane-san, but with an extra bite to it.

So far, I feel like I'm reading "Silent Hill: Hinamizawa 2006" or something, deserted ghost town, mysterious woman (well, Mion), dark and gloomy environment.... It's really cool.

Is mion the only one we recognize in yoigoshi-hen, or are the other girls/keichii present?

No matter she is really "Mion" or not, I like the cool and serious expression

I picked up Watanagashi-hen book 1 and Tatarigoroshi-hen book 2 up at Otakon.
I was kinda suprised there was almost no vendors that had anything Higurashi related (or Haruhi related either).

Hopefuly next year will be diffrent and there will be more of the mangas. Back to importing for now.

Tsumihoroboshi-hen in GanGan Powered

By coincidence, I picked up the first installment 2 days before broadcast of the first anime episode. Pretty cool! Interesting to see how the pacing differs from the anime adaptation. I got all the GG Powered magazines that Onikakushi-hen ran in except the second installment, IIRC. Are the drama tracks on the CDs that come with those issues the same ones as the drama people have raved about, or is that something different? I haven't listened to them just yet, been too busy...

There is one group who has transated the first four chapters of Watanagashi-hen and Tatarigoroshi-hen. Another group has taken Onikakushi-hen on as a project, but no progress has been made yet. The links are on the first two pages of the thread.

I've also finally ordered Watanagashi and Tatarigoroshi off Yesasia. My next paycheque will see me getting Oninkakushi, Himatsubushi and Onisarashi.

Lemme know if they actually get sent. I tried ordering Watanagashi v1 off yesasia and after about 2 weeks they still couldn't find one and ended up giving the money back as yesasia credit :/ Suppose if you kept trying you might eventually get them though.

Sucks because they're the only place that doesn't have huge shipping charges.

Well, both Tatarigoroshi and Watanagashi shipped. I also ordered Onikakushi volume 1 along with my NANA soundtrack because I needed an extra item for free shipping and it was in stock already and it shipped the same day.
Watanagashi actually arrived in stock a day or two before Tatarigoroshi did.
