Hey guys, check out this insane Duel I had against the 2 dan that sat on my right...

The intensity of that game blew my mind. I wish I could have shaken that guy's hand. They played excellent

East 3rd, when you drew the 8 Man, why did you keep the 2 Sou? For the Dora? When I saw you draw the 3 Sou, most of the time I would have instinctively thrown it away (with the 5 Man as a pair), but if I drew something like the 8 Man there I would have aimed for completing out the man shun. Which, incidentally, happened on the next draw.

What an ending, though. :X

Huh? I don't understand what you are talking about. Which hand are you refering to? I think you might have mixed up man with sou or something? Are you talking about East 3-2 where the dealer rons me for 1,500??? Maybe you are talking about a different hand? But I've gone through them and I don't see where you are refering to.

EDIT: Oh yea, by the way, I'm now officially a 1 dan! (and my first two games as a one dan ROCKED!! Though I'm still making stupid mistakes XD)

That's the one. On your ninth draw, you drew a 3 Sou. On the tenth, you drew an 8 Man, but discarded the 9 Man from your hand.

Let me try to explain my logic as best as I can:

When I drew the 3 sou, it gave me a three sided wait to complete that meld (waiting on a 1, 3, or 4 sou) therefore, I discarded the 9pin because it really wasn't a wait. If I drew the 8pin, sure, it could have made it a better wait, but it wouldn't get me closer to tenpai.

The next go-around, I drew the 8man. I discarded the 9man because the 8 had already completed the meld. I didn't feel a need for the 9man, simply because it would complicate my hand further. It also got me closer to getting all simples as well (in case I drew the 4pin).

If I did what you suggested, I would have had (in mans): 5567789 - which could be broken up into a 567, 789 (discarding the 5man dora) or 55, 67, 789 (being on a two sided wait for either dora or 8man. Nobody probably would have dropped dora, so it most likely would have been a 1 sided wait for 8man).

But my decision was fairly quick (because of the timer) and I figured - got the meld, one step closer to all simples, don't really want to complicate my hand, and my sou meld was on a three sided wait (plus the 3pin) for tenpai.

South 4: Just wondering. Where's that last 6-Sou? I failed to call Kan when the 3-Sou was dropped.

Wow.

Wowowowowowowowow.

I have an INCREDIBLE game on BVS I just played. Gonna have to chronicle the whole thing...hold a tick.

...

Aww man, this sucks. I couldn't get most of the pictures. I'll have to settle for narration, then.

It's a Tonpuusen, and I start on dealer. I get a decent starting hand, with two complete melds and a pair. I used Goumoupai eight times to get two Kan of Haku, but fail twice in placing the Chun I have as the Uradora. So, -16000 points right off the start. Once I get the Chun successfully placed, though, I can't Riichi due to a bug in the program - it gets confused when a lot of Haku are present, thinking I have only two Kans instead of two Kou and a pair, for a 1-Pin Haku wait.

It ended in a Suukansanra, and I never got into Tenpai after declaring the hidden kans.

At some point, I got hit by Stalker for 4300 and 1300 points, which reduced my total to 3400. I then Tsumo'd on a Baiman (concealed Riichi, Hon Itsu, Hatsu, San An Kou) and got a Haneman off of either the East or West House, who had hit the dealer (Stalker) for some points earlier in the game. That brought my total to 31400.

In the 4th round, I get a really poor hand, but the dealer gets a cheap win -

Last round, I get a hand in TENPAI, with a wait on, of all things, a HAKU.

So, with a little more than a 60% chance of cheating success, I used Goumoupai...

I can't believe this, I don't think I've ever come from such a deficit with that huge a win. Yeah I cheated but cheating got me in that situation in the first place.

OK, help me read this page:

http://tenhou.net/sc/prof.html

I can tell the list of hands and probabilities below. However, what are the selectable options near the top of the page? Just reading through Wiki and am looking to do some article edits.

And I'm assuming: (和了数 491430) indicates the number of games played.

If you kanned, the next dora indicator would have been your winning tile and would have given the winner a reverse dora. The draw tile you would have gotten is the 5 pin

First row (All rooms): Normal, First Dan and above, 4th-Dan and above, 7th-Dan and above

Second row: East Only with Red bonus tiles, East (tanyao allowed), East (tanyao not allowed), (next 3 repeat for South, instead of East), and finally, the same 3 options for the 3 players game.

My 5th-dan account has once again dropped to 45 points, and I haven't touched Tenhou for a few weeks. You can say I'm done with Tenhou in particular.

Played like crap. Dunno how I didn't finish last.

I really need to learn to stop underestimating people because of their rank, though. After the first few games I was like "Oh, shit, these guys know wtf they're doing."
