Cencoroll (Sci-Fi + School Life)

Title: Cencoroll
Premier: 2007
Production: Anime Innovation Tokyo, LLP
Animation: Atsuya Uki
Official Website: http://anime-innovation.jp/sys/works.php?itemid=7

I thought it was a movie at first but it seems it could be an OVA as well....the reason for this is that I checked AniDB and they've put it as an OVA....not too sure.

Plot:

A sudden advent of an enigmatic creature pushes the world and our young heroine, Yuki, into the realm of surreal.

(~taken from AniDB~)

Cencoroll Trailer: - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9GtU3xwLBQ

This how this movie came coming about: -

“For talented animation creators who want an opportunity to create and distribute an ”original work,” ”ANIME INNOVATION TOKYO” offers funds and equipments. Producers belonging to ”ANIME INNOVATION TOKYO” take care and advise selected creators to make pilot films. Production span is about six months to a year. Basically, the pilot films should be based on ”original plans” from the creators. Any form of animation is possible. We will accept any animation style if we feel that it brings out the best of the creator’s style, and we can offer equipments within each individual project budget. By the spring of 2008, we will select 20 creators, and team up with them to establish joint-venture groups (JV) with LLP, ”ANIME INNOVATION TOKYO” etc., to make pilot films together.”

(~taken from Anime Innovation Tokyo main site~)

Cencoroll is the first one to be selected. A trailer has been released, which I've put a link to above. Apparently, the first episode or the movie has been released at the moment.

The trailer looks really good (btw...I like the BGM in this trailer!! XDDD)....its giving me some FLCL and Bokurano vibes. The guy going in the big fleshy thingy reminds me of Reideen in a way. It looks really interesting!!!! XDDDD  The fleshy thing also reminded me of the last scenes of Akira. I'm getting chills that this might be a Mind F*ck!!!

The trailer is truly amazing. Atsuya Uki's a real talent to watch.

However it's shame there has been no new information or material since the first time it came to light. It's still in development hell it seems...

Wow the trailer was very good and yes the music is awesome. I gotta a weird Akira vibe from that for some reason. Well hopefully this will get out of "development hell" and get off the ground, it looks very promising.

I get a great feeling from this and the trailer, it might be longer since we hear more from it but I look forward to seeing how it turns out.

The thing is "ANIME INNOVATION TOKYO" helped produce the pilot film but untill some sponsors show up, the project will not expand to it's final form movie or tv series, i don't know what the director as in mind. I sure hope someone will be interested in this project one of the best looking on AIT line up.

When you pertain to the pilot film, do you mean the trailer? Because I think it's very possible to write an OVA even with a budget that's not too large. It's only one episode, after all.

After almost two years of waiting, I'd like to see this one come out.

So, finally it seems that Uki managed to find a sponsor.

Here's the site of the project: http://www.cencoroll.com/

It is reported as a film. Source: ANN forum.
