海 (umi) - the ocean

Kurumi, as in Erika. And Ika and her have a very similar color scheme. This is something that has not gone unnoticed on pixiv.

It looks like this is supposed to air on TV Tokyo an hour from now according to Anime Calendar, but don't see it listed in the upcoming anime for this week on Crunchyroll...wonder if they're stretching the definition of "simulcast" again...

They're streaming it on Saturday. There is a network that airs it on that day, it's just not the first airing.

wow ... wtf did I just watch?

This show is literally full of concentrated win. The OP sequence is simply godly, nothing comes even remotely close to it this season. Juri Aikawa/Hisako Kanemoto did an awesome job as Ika. Totally following this series since I don't think any other show this season can top the humor in this one (though I can see the humor is 100% hit or miss).

Forget trying to take on every single human on the planet by yourself, Ika. You're no match for the power Chizuru. Who you should not make angry. It's only the first episode and already a tragic moment. Let's all shed a tear. All right, we're getting Sanae next episode. She's a character to look forward to. A pretty nice first episode and it seems to retain the charm of the manga for the most part. It helps that Ika proves that squid girls can be sexy. Spoiler for Motto To Love Ru 01 - Sparky Stabby Squid: Compared to the other shows that air on Monday, this is the cheeriest, happiest one of them all. That's good. I love it. It's got a simple charm, and Ika's delusions of world conquest are fun. 21 minutes of pure entertainment, and the beach setting is splendid. Makes me wish it was still the summer, but I can't change the fact that it's summer. Will catch the stream on Saturday. Want to support the official release after all.
